A few varied thoughts for this season.

Blue is a gorgeous color for Christmas or New Years. Very regal.

A rusty old tin can with a handmade sign on it filled with artichokes or even pomegranates or avocados.

Red plates!! Squeeeeeeeal...

A very simple, yet thoughtful, bracelet made from a ribbon and faux pearls.

And wrapped elegantly with white tissue in a lovely sentimental box.

Bright red ribbons on weathered boards.

Reminding me of fences that might need mending in my life. ;-)

Our first great grandchild. Our granddaughter posing for her 4 month old baby in the womb. It is a baby, you know. Not some thing that can be obliterated because it's not wanted. Plus I applaud her modesty in posing. So many women today are posing with their pregnant bellies exposed to all the world. For this family, it is a sacred event. New life. To display it for all the world to see to me is not the thing to do. I believe this should be between a husband and wife, not to show to all the world until the beautiful baby comes into this world. But that's just me. Modesty abounds in this house, which is a house dedicated to the Lord.

Just a small little tree I placed near an etagere in our living room with fuchsia balls on it.

I was outside doing a photo shoot and noticed the stillness of the early morning. I quickly turned the camera to the yard and the starkness of our winter morning.

I so miss the twittering of birds in their bath.

We don't go "over the river and through the woods", but Love Bunny does go out to our "barn" to get the snow shovel and bins for my ever growing stash of pink tree ornaments. See his footprints. :-)

Our sad little quaking aspen trees yearning to have their little leaves quake and quiver at us again.

I came across this wonderful product purely by accident recently and ordered it. It adds a glittery shine to projects. I've practiced on this scrap of card stock. I've learned that it must be shaken well before spritzing on to the project though. Plus it's not cheap at $6.99 a bottle.

I also wanted to show you that even the humblest of things can be beautiful. This is the "leftovers" from cutting out some scrunched flowers and after testing the Glittermist on this card stock. Pretty bad, huh?

Cut out another one—one petal each—for this little flower. Out of scraps comes this. Not much is wasted around this house when it comes to froufrou-ing up!

I love peanut butter and eat half a sandwich quite frequently for lunch. Recently, while spreading it on the slice of bread, I thought of that old commercial with Annette Funicello. I wondered how many slices of bread she had to spread with peanut butter before it was a "take" for the cameras. I'm betting she hates the smell of it by now. Hmmm.....

I visit a lot of blogs daily simply because I love viewing them and getting a sneak peek into other's lives and comparing my pathetic little life. ;-) Joking, joking!!!! Anyway, when viewing some of their photos with captions I'm not sure if the text is for the photo above it or below it. That gets very confusing when the blogger is talking about someone in the photo who has a name that can be both feminine and masculine such as Kelly or Mel (Melanie), Mckenzie, Hadley or some such. So to just clarify for you, my text for the photo is always above the photo so you won't have to wonder about my aunt "Cary"!!

Recently our garage door wouldn't work properly and being only 4 years old, it should have been. I'm not that hard on them, chicks! Well, Love Bunny "fixed" it. Nuuuuu, the next time I left it wouldn't go down properly. To spare you the long and gruesome details, this went on for several days. He'd fix; it wouldn't work for me next time. On and on. Finally, we think we've got it working properly. However, all this took to fix the problem was a paper towel to clean the "lens" and a "jiggle." I think he'd call this "scientific" but I'm not sure about that. DUH!!

Have you ever been around someone and it's hard to resist the urge to do a mercy killing? This happens frequently and my patience is a test to them being alive at this moment!

The other day while loading my items onto the belt at the check out stand at WM I dropped something and a young man loading the soft drink machine said, "Here, let me get that for you; it's easier for me." Aaaaaaccckkkk, do I look like I'm an old lady?!?! Trust me, I felt the chill up and down my spine.

There is a situation in our life that has us a bit on edge here. The other night I just broke down and cried. I could feel the urge coming on and LB sat me down and we talked. He's always kind like that. He knows when situations for me are bad and he's very loving and talked me through it and took action to render some relief to that stress. No, it's not him. I knew I wouldn't be able to breathe after that. So now I'm wondering why does crying stuff us up????

Several years ago a friend invited us to her house for dinner. I rarely turn down an invitation to feed me. Anyway, we went and when dinner was served it was at a kitchen bar on high stools. Now, this is not my idea of comfort, leisurely dinner or even good etiquette for conversation. The food was fine but I was a bit miffed. You cannot talk while 4 people are sitting side by side. It just doesn't work. Plus sitting on high stools just about kills my legs. I'll be sure and ask next time if we can please sit at a table to eat and converse.

We have a rule in this house that we do not read while at the table with each other except when reading our scriptures in the morning there after we've eaten. At no other time is reading allowed there. It is very rude to eat and have the other person with their face in a book, magazine or paper. Dining tables are for eating.

A good day for puttering around this household is never wasted.

Hubs and I have believed for several years now in getting our food storage for the hard times ahead. I found this seed company that has non-hybrid "survival seeds." We're getting some to have in case seeds become non-available. If you are interested I suggest you go now because they are having a sale of 30% off a starter pack. They are called "LDS Food Storage Seeds."

Recently hubs and I went to the LDS Cannery and bought 50# of hot cocoa mix. It was a fantastic deal, but we still have to pack it into 5 gallon bucket containers for food storage. Last year we went through 25# in about a year and a half so this should last through this winter and into the next. And I've tripped over it about 5 times so far. *Sigh*...

I finally got a new Magic Mouse from Apple. It's wireless and no buttons on it at all, just a sweep of a finger or 2 fingers and it scrolls up, down and sideways. Just an amazing little mouse. It takes a bit of getting used to because it's so much flatter than the old wired one. Hubs will get it; he always gets my hand-me-downs. ;-) I'm a first born child, ya know, and never had hand-me-downs. ;-)



I then thought I'd get started on my Christmas birdhouse for a friend. She doesn't read blogs so she won't be seeing this, but I got it out today for a coat of pink paint. You'll see the finished product soon.

I then froufrou-ed up the ornaments for the pink Christmas tree cutting little circles with pinking shears and gluing little ribbon roses to the inexpensive glittered ornies. This is how they turned out. Cute, huh?

A gift from a friend. It will probably go on my mantel or at least a place of honor from this very special friend.
Yawn, I'm all puttered out now.

Primp Your Cans

My blogging friends, you really don't want to miss the posts this week. I'm going to definitely show the Pink, White and Roses Christmas Tree. Squeeeeeeal. I promise you glitz, bling, pizzazz and all that stuff. You know what I mean. It really did turn out darling.

Have I got your attention yet? I don't mean to sound crude, but I do mean primp your cans. I had this one left over after we finished the cocoa mix inside, so I couldn't throw away a perfectly good tin can, could I? Nuuuuuu, so after spray painting it white, I primped it up with some decals, rick rack, ribbon roses and ribbon. You can do this also. I've just described the drill to you so go get busy and then put your kitchen utensils in it as I'm going to do with this one. Or your brushes. ;-)

We don't decorate for the holidays simply because I'm too lazy. ;-) Actually, we have so little room in this house that I have to take advantage of every single space and still need "mental counseling" to get over my addiction to "things"! Putting up the tree in front of the living room window involves moving the furniture and y'all know how lazy I am, right? Since it's just me and Love Bunny, there isn't much reason as far as I'm concerned. LB would decorate, but it would probably be with model trains and that ain't happening in this house, so we simply forgo it altogether. I certainly have favorite things around my house and this is one of them. The cake toppers on both my wedding cakes at our 2 different receptions and my original bouquet with some pink paper roses wired to it. The photo is of us on one of our trips to Mexico.

I have friends who like the romantic shabby look but they have leather or rather manly furniture and say they couldn't do it with their furniture. I say "Posh and Bolderdash" to that! Look how lovely this very manly leather or suede sofa with kilim type cushions looks with the white frilly pillows looks. Squeeeeeeal. I just love this and am going to show it to some friends who doubt me.

Who could resist having measuring cups like this even if they didn't cook? I'd buy them to just have around the house. Okay, looks like a trip to Williams-Sonoma is in order here. ;-)
