We don't decorate for the holidays simply because I'm too lazy. ;-) Actually, we have so little room in this house that I have to take advantage of every single space and still need "mental counseling" to get over my addiction to "things"! Putting up the tree in front of the living room window involves moving the furniture and y'all know how lazy I am, right? Since it's just me and Love Bunny, there isn't much reason as far as I'm concerned. LB would decorate, but it would probably be with model trains and that ain't happening in this house, so we simply forgo it altogether. I certainly have favorite things around my house and this is one of them. The cake toppers on both my wedding cakes at our 2 different receptions and my original bouquet with some pink paper roses wired to it. The photo is of us on one of our trips to Mexico.

I have friends who like the romantic shabby look but they have leather or rather manly furniture and say they couldn't do it with their furniture. I say "Posh and Bolderdash" to that! Look how lovely this very manly leather or suede sofa with kilim type cushions looks with the white frilly pillows looks. Squeeeeeeal. I just love this and am going to show it to some friends who doubt me.

Blessings of the summer season. This isn't pink and has nothing to do with Pink Saturday, but that corn sure was gooooood!!
*
Isn't this little wastebasket the cutest thing ever?!!! Two hundred eighty dollars ($280.00)!!!
*
Stunning dresser against dark brown walls. I think it's gorgeous!
*
A Cath Kidston purse that makes me wish even more that they had stores here in the USA. *Sigh*..........
*
Who could resist having measuring cups like this even if they didn't cook? I'd buy them to just have around the house. Okay, looks like a trip to Williams-Sonoma is in order here. ;-)

Happy Pink Saturday sweetie...
ReplyDeleteLove your post as always. Fun and whimsical.
I love the cake toppers, how beautiful they are. I still have mine too. It is quite worn, but it was mine and I love it. I also love you paper roses.
Now sweetie. That corn looks just like what I brought back from Oklahoma, and my gosh was it ever sweet. Lovin it. Thanks for the corn. I so enjoyed it.
Your couch looks devine, and it is workable. Frilly and Manly do go together. Some people you just have to convince.
Thanks again sweetie. Please stop by and say hi. I love it when you do, and I so want to share my pink post with you.
Country hugs, Sherry
Happy Pink sat Connie,Love your vinatge cake toppers. You are so right about the brown suade couches.Mine in the family room is brown suade with the bear tapestry.Well I can turn the bear print over to the solid brown tapestry and put the R Ashwell quilts over the back and add rose pillows and it all looks so rich and shabby cottage looking.I have the dark burgundy damask curtains in the family/computer room so it all goes great with any change I make.Hugs,Jen
ReplyDeletePs sure would love some of that yummy looking corn right now.LOL
Hugs!Love ya,Jen
Love your PS post...even if it was just a bit "corny"...you are soooooo creative!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteWhen I look around our tiny little cottage in the midst of decorating, I am tempted to take your advice. It seems to be jam-packed at the moment.
I love the pillows on the sofa - they work together beautifully and the pillows soften that masculine look.
I have two favorite foods: potatoes and corn on the cob. My mouth is watering at the moment!
Happy Pink Saturday, my friend!
xoxo
Claudia

ReplyDeleteand, yes, if one likes frilly, those pillows look fabulous with leather..I have leather, too...I lean towards the more tailored look in the living room but love the fufu in some of the bedrooms...:)...a girl gotta have a little softness somewhere!

Such pretty randomness!! I bought my mother a gift certificate to Williams-Sonoma for Christmas this year. She loves that store and, after ooohing and aaahing over everything when purchasing the gift certificate, I can certainly see why!!! Oh my goodness!!! :)

Happy Pink Saturday, Connie...
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the corn made me yearning for summer and the marvelous corn we get here.
I agree with you about manly furniture....you outdid yourself with those comfy white pillows...I luckily have a man that is not threatened with my venture into lots of white and pink...he has his room with the roll top computer desk and his Remington prints....maybe that is the answer.
Always look forward to your posts. I know it will be something special and it was!
