Thoughts on Christmas

Last sneak peek of the Pink and Roses Christmas tree. It will post tomorrow.

A few varied thoughts for this season.

Blue is a gorgeous color for Christmas or New Years. Very regal.

A rusty old tin can with a handmade sign on it filled with artichokes or even pomegranates or avocados.

Red plates!! Squeeeeeeeal...

A very simple, yet thoughtful, bracelet made from a ribbon and faux pearls.

And wrapped elegantly with white tissue in a lovely sentimental box.

Bright red ribbons on weathered boards.

Reminding me of fences that might need mending in my life. ;-)

Our first great grandchild. Our granddaughter posing for her 4 month old baby in the womb. It is a baby, you know. Not some thing that can be obliterated because it's not wanted. Plus I applaud her modesty in posing. So many women today are posing with their pregnant bellies exposed to all the world. For this family, it is a sacred event. New life. To display it for all the world to see to me is not the thing to do. I believe this should be between a husband and wife, not to show to all the world until the beautiful baby comes into this world. But that's just me. Modesty abounds in this house, which is a house dedicated to the Lord.

Just a small little tree I placed near an etagere in our living room with fuchsia balls on it.

  1. Beautiful pictures! And you're driving me crazy with your teaser pics of the tree. I can't wait!

  2. Connie....
Oh My.... I was reading your post about the pregnancy & I thought I was the only one who has gotten sick n' tired of seeing "bellies" on full display. When I had my children a lady was respectful of the pregnancy. We wore bloused tops & were feminine..... Oh well that is just me.
    Great Post!!
    Happy Holidays!

  3. Mornin Connie,Love to see another peak of your tree.Almost time for the big reveal.Mandy's baby bump is so tiny,I bet you all are just so excited and can hardly wait.I see her cat staring at her with love too on the counter such a pretty kitty.I Love the fence pic with the snow.I want fence like that out here on our farm someday.Which will be soon Marcus is pushing full force with his farming,15 and ready to take the bull by the horns.Hope you are feeling happy today.Hugs,Jen

  4. TY for the modesty as we are very modest in our home also ... I am so not into these 'bellies' (love the babies) ... what a precious pics.

Where did you get those heart ornies from? I have to find them ... they are AWESOME, Connie.

The wee white tree is gorgeous! It just radiates with the red.

Gorgeous, breathtaking A& EVERYONE WILL BE SQUEALING tomorrow when they see that tree, it is DIVINE!

TY for your assist this week & advice ... it was most helpful & a new slant on viewing things.

    Hugs, TTFN ~Marydon

  5. Good Morning Honey! That so reminds me of some song. LOL. Congratulations on another beloved and special gift for your family to cherish. Great-Grandma? That can't be. What a blessing.

I can't wait to see the tree. The peek alone looks gorgeous.

With hugs and good wishes...Tracy :)

  6. OMG - I don't know if I closed out before verifing my post, so if this is a second one please forgive me and delete it.

Congratulations to you and your family on such a blessed event. It would be so wonderful to have a new addition to our family. I just love sweet little babies. Not that anyone in my family needs or should have one. LOL.

I'm looking so forward to seeing your beautiful tree. The sneak peeks are fabulous!

With hugs and good wishes...Tracy :)

  7. Hello Connie,

Gorgeous photos - I love the bracelet. You are right, it is so simple and elegant.

You are a tease; you know that don't you? That tree is going to be beyond fabulous, I just know it.

  8. Awe..thanks for the sneak peak..and isn't that so sweet. I can kick myself cause I do not have but 2 or 3 pictures of me are gonna be the BEST GG-ma ever!

    Yes! and modesty does rule!

  9. Love modesty! Love your granddaughter in her sweater dress... she looks so cute!!! You know, I cannot stop thinking about you and your world of PINK. Everytime I go out shopping, I see something you should have. Yesterday I saw a beautiful little serving platter... with pink roses...and the word "love" scattered around the plate... very vintage and feminine looking. You just might make me cross over to the pink side one day soon!

  10. Connie you has just the right touch for gorgeous color. Your tree will be breathtaking. Congrats on the upcoming new blessing. All this hullabaloo on abortion makes me sick to even hear about it. Thank goodness we still have the freedom to make a moral choice. I see more and more blue only Christmas displays than ever. I love it.

  11. Hi Connie
A precious picture of the new mother to be. So lovely. I wish her the best pregnancy and the happiest and healthiest little one. Keep us tuned in on this one.

Your pictures are beautiful with the trees..and the serviettes and everything. Just lovely.

I hope Christmas is coming together nicely for you....enjoy this season.

  12. Gorgeousness all around!

  13. Merry Christmas, Connie..and congratulations to your granddaughter on her expected little one...and to you too!
I loved the way she looked in that gorgeous dress.
I'm not for middrifts when you are expecting...but being able to show off the glory going on in your life, to me is wonderful. NOT something to try and hide or be ashamed of...AT ALL! She is just beautiful!!

I just wanted to stop in and tell you how much I have enjoyed your comments on my blog, no matter how bad they are...or what is going on in my are always so kind..and you are this way with everyone. Your comments are aways warm and caring. Just thanks! :)

  14. p.s. Sorry, I sort of focused on that baby! :) I loved your entire post...all of it...the delicate bracelets...everything..

  15. Such pretty pictures!!! I can't wait for tomorrows pictures.
    Capers of the vintage vixens

  16. Lovely photos Connie. I agree with you on the modesty issue. We got a Christmas card this year with a pregnant belly displayed...sigh

Thanks for your encouragement today. Hugs, Kathi

  17. I truly appreciate your thoughts on modesty and especially on babies! Connie is never afraid to speak her mind! You go, girl!

Lovely tree and more! Will have to sneak back to look at the pinky tree!

  18. hi connie!

what beautiful photos! thank you for the fun comment. i just know your tree looks beautiful!

    happy december

  19. Connie, can't wait for the reveal---it's Thursday, but I guess you are sleeping, where I should be.
Oh Thank You so much for the bellie comment. I have seen too many tight and exposed bellies to make me puck. Girls around here wear clothes so tight you can see their belly button sticking out---UGH! I won't even walk around without a bra in front of my children---modesty is practiced in our house also.
I love the feathery tree. Guess I'll have to go home and put out a few things for Donnie's visit. Love and Hugs, and many Blessings on your future great grandchild. Pat

Comments are so nice and I thank all of you that leave one for me.
