The Rosette Party

It's time for The French Cupboard's Rosette Party. Join in the fun with so much eye candy you'll have your sugar fix for a month! Just click on the logo over here --------->
and go to all the participants.

For those of you who have never been to my blog before I have an admission: I love roses. Yep, it's true. I am also a very froufrou-y chick. My house is very feminine. My hubby, Love Bunny, is a retired Marine and lives in a pink house. I spend as much spare time as possible making flowers of just about any material: paper, coffee filters, fabric, ribbon, ANY thing I can. Below you will see some of them. Just about every single item below is handmade by me. Only a few aren't and those are stated above the photo. If I need some kind of accessory for a shirt or jacket, I whip it up in just a few minutes. Take a look and enjoy. And if you have any interest, look just below my banner/logo above and click on my House, Office, Studio, etc. to view my home. I truly doubt you'll be disappointed. :-)

This one was a gift from a friend.

The ones on this lamp were purchased many years ago.

I purchased these also.

These are vintage millinery flowers I made as clip-ons for my high heels.

This pair of shoes I bought at Macy's and the roses came on them.

  1. I am visiting you from PamelaJamela's place and so glad I did. I absolutely LOVE all the roses! What a talent ? Although, I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed that not one photo featured your Marine-husband posing with one.
This reminds me of an art project we did in my middle school class...using huge sheets of brightly colored tissue paper to create gorgeous large flowers to decorate for one of our parties.

  3. Connie, I am so green today with envy because I never learn how to do rosettes. Does rolled up ribbon count as a rosette or how about yoyos. I keep saying I am going to make a large pillow with nothing but pink yoyos on it, but can't seem to find enough pink in my stash. My daughter just sent some more vintage pink material and I don't know what to do with it. My mind is blank right now, but I'm sure something will pop up in my sleep. Love all of your rosettes and my favorites are the pink ribbon ones. Fabulous comes to mind. Love and hugs, Pat

  7. Wow! Wonderful!! I can tell that your hubby is very secure in his masculinity!! Your home is every girly girl's fantasy!! In regard to driving to the North End, the photos I snapped were between North 9th Street and North 14th between Ada at the southern end, and Eastman on the northern one. That cute little dollhouse is between 9th and 10th on Alturas. The pics of the Hyde Park shopping district are on North 13th between Alturas and Brumback. If you come in on the connector, you can turn left at 13th Street and follow the signs. There is actually a sign at the intersection indicating the Hyde Park Historic District.

  11. Quite impressive!
Someone I worked with made roses with paper money.

For one of the parties she made a bouquet of $20 bills for a gift --

    They were rose buds, tho.

(Swampy calls me pamelajamela, because of a post I did in my pjs' a few years ago. grin)

  19. Connie,
What a treat! I am awake early,,,thank God for my laptop...This is an incredible collection of roses. I laughed when I saw the house vase, We have the same one from San Francisco when we lived there in the early seventies. It looks beautiful filled with your roses.

We are pretty new to all this and our blog is not as refined and beautiful but I am enjoying it. My daughter gave it to me as a gift. We make upcycled jewelry but have the "paper room" as well.

I am also lucky enough to live in a house with pink walls...hooray! It is not quite as frilly but there is a whole lot of pink.

I left psychology twelve years ago because of fibromyalgia and, except for that, love being home.Katie is a "rebound" back getting her MSW at thirty. She will be gone again when she is done,,,sometime next year,,,and is our only child. I want a grandchild! (She is not married)

Come and see us, if you would like.
