Can We Talk, Chicks?

I was in the market for some new mascara last week. Grubbin' through WM I had so many choices it was amazing. I finally decided on this one because it's a new formula and touted rather boldly on the display so I thought, oh what the heck? Might as well.

Now, first let me say that the Bobbi Brown mascara is 3x the price of this one and I wasn't too thrilled about their mascara. But this one for $6.00 I thought I'd try. What did I have to lose? I'm here to tell ya that this mascara is the best I've ever used.

Remember, my experience with the 15x magnifying mirror. Whoooooooa, chicks, you don't wanna know how truly ugly it was! Not pretty at all, I tell ya. Sooooo after applying this Maybelline mascara I looked in that mirror and they were truly lush, long and NOT ONE clump on them.

First one is from about 2 weeks ago with what was then my regular mascara—Cover Girl. Nice, but not as thick and long as the last one. I don't know why but the first one looks better on here than the last two but truly in person the last two photos of my eyes are better. If it looks bad don't blame the makeup; blame the FACE! Oh, and there is only mascara on the top lashes, not the bottom ones. And the new mascara was black where the old one was brown/black. I think I need the brown/black and not black/black. *

Okay, I went back to the store and got the brown/black and it looks much better I think.

And with the eyes opened. For crying out loud, why are my eyes so red? I look like I'm on crack or something.....truly I have absolutely nothing on except for mascara!

*These photos could have been Photoshopped to remove wrinkles! :-)

  1. awww Connie.. your eyes look lovely.. now I wanna get the mascara too! I used to wear Stila's mascara.. they are ok.. but very expensive.. so, i should try this one.. thanks for sharing and wishing you a great week!

    take care

  2. I like the brown/black one the best too Connie. It makes your eyes look softer. I'll have to look for that mascara here.
    Hugs ~ Kerryanne

  3. loving the brown/black one have pretty eyes and nice eyebrows too...I love loreal mascara..will have to try yours sometime....have a great week...:)

  4. Oh Connie, I wish I looked as good as you do "with out" any make-up except mascara. Your skin is beautiful!!!!!

I like both of the choices on you. Your eyes look amazing Chicka!!!

    Love & Prayers,

  5. Oh come on, I didn't see ANY wrinkles. You look fabulous dahlink! That post is just a hoot, I mean it's good - but so unique it made me smile.

For my part, I'm finishing 2 tissue cozies today and shipping one out that I sold. Then it's on to upgrading my DeStash site, re-writing my Faerie Tales and on and on. Yep, I do love to be productive. Talk to you soon, Have a great week,

  6. Your lashes look gorgeous!!!
I, too, like the brown/black the best. That's the shade I wear and have come to love after much trial and error, lol!!

  7. Have to try this new mascara. I need a new photoshop to 'erase' wrinkles :-)...A person just can't keep up with wrinkles and I quit dying my hair, can't keep up.

  8. Will you adopt me? I just loooove you! You never cease to entertain and you have wonderful beauty tips, what could be better! You look marvelous darling! Thanks for the giggles!!

  9. You look awesome! I will definitely have to try it.

  10. Yep, I'm with you Connie. I like the brown/black and the mascara looks great on your eyes.

It is always amazing to me how make-up, be it mascara, lipstick, or powder, depending on the name is so much more expensive than the stuff I grew up with and wore as a teenager and young adult. It worked fine but then I started to hear all of the wonderful things Bobbi Brown,Estee Lauder, and Chanel could do for my face and I switched only to find out it all seemed the same to me!!

Not that there's anything wrong with those products, I just don't see that much difference in my overall complexion.

I did not see any wrinkes on your face?? What I did see looked great!!

  11. Connie, you look great and I too like the brown/black one. Missing everyone in blogland but we have to get the estate sale ready. I love it in the country and when this sale is over, then we begin freshening up the house to sell it-sob, sob. I don't want to come home, no explanatioin warranted. Love and hugs, Pat

  12. It's the best mascara I've ever used either! It's the only one I use now! It's amazing! It's unbelievable how well it works!

    All the the best,

  13. I have three tubes of mascara and hate them all so I will give this one a try, thanks for the info.

  14. Okay, you've opened my eyes. (sorry) lol! I have used the same black mascara for 100 years and now I think I'm going to go out and try this in brown/black, it really does make an amazing difference!! Who knew? Thanks for sharing, guess I've been in a mascara rut.
    Have an incredible Monday!
    ♥ Teresa

  15. Wow...what a difference Connie! I was using Cover Girl too...I might have to give this one a try!

    Thanks for sharing!

  16. What beautiful eyes you have my dear! I have to check out that photoshop. I bought that for Rachel awhile ago, but haven't tried it myself.

  17. I think I need to get some of that stuff!

  18. WRinkles? What wrinkles!
    Nice lashes!

  19. Hi Connie,
That is great news about catching some of the BAD MEN...and that your son is recovering, slowly...
Love the chandy cover..haven't seen anything like that. Very pretty. I use L'Oreal mascara and love it. I've used it for YEARS..
I want to be photo enchanced!!
    Deb :)

  20. I've always used Maybelline's Great Lash mascara and have never had any clumping probs, I definately think the brown/black suits you much better and your eyes are such a beautiful color!!

    Have a lovely day!

  21. You have such pretty eyes! I have to watch what I wear because it bothers my contacts.

  22. I love the brown/black.....your eyes look great....
The posts from our most recent "grandparent Disney trip" are beginning, with a look into the eyes of my little guys from this "Grammy"! Also every comment counts as an entry for the May giveaway.

  23. I think those 'eyes' are or not! Very pretty! I agree that the brown/black is much prettier. Soft.

  24. Are you kidding, Connie? What wrinkles? My gosh you have gorgeous eyes! Okay, I am running out to get some. I stopped wearing mascara years ago because it would glob and clump on my sparse eyelashes. You've sold me. Now if I can just find something to give me thick, lush hair like yours I'll be one happy camper!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage

  25. You look beautiful and I didn't see a single wrinkle! My daughter had good luck with this mascara, but I didn't. My lashes have a mind of their own--unfortunately.

Glad to hear your son's doing better. You and he have been in my prayers.

Comments are so nice and I thank all of you that leave one for me.
