Chirp!

I promised someone I'd post pix of the little bird cage after I decorated it and my master bath. So here it is hanging over my garden tub, which is only used to shave my legs, chickees. Oh, and speaking of chicks, I love chicks and call just about everyone chick, sweetpea, lovey or some derivation of a "sweet" term! And my ebay group women are my "chicks"!! I ain't politically correct in any form!

Friday Fluff for You Chicks!

I took this picture late in the day but they're growing.........no thanks to me, of course. Hubs is the one who grows things around here. Yes, those are 3 different hydrangeas. You have no idea how hard it is to grow some things in the deserts. Never take for granted your lush gardens. We fight for every blade of grass we get here!

This hosta is doing quite well also. I absolutely love hostas because they usually grow in shade and remind me of lazy summer days but here in the desert you have to "nurse" them along. I'm thrilled this one has lasted and continues to come back year after year.

Just thought I'd show you what can be done with "plain ol' jars" when you fill them with ribbons and "stuff'!

A tray I found at the antique shop in Calif. It's not an antique but it wasn't expensive and I liked it. What I'll do with it is still a mystery though! :-)

Picked this up at the thrift store for a dollar or two and will put on a wall somewhere. Too cute to pass up. Isn't that phrase becoming my mantra?!?!?! Hmmmm.......

I collect pitchers and this one found its way into my cart. Imagine that!!!

Got these for a song also. But they'll both get a coat of white paint when the wind is still. A bit breezy today but who knows what tomorrow will bring. I love the breeze but cannot paint in it.

I cannot tell you my excitement when I saw this wonderful vintage suitcase! I almost shouted for joy getting to the register. The inside is in great condition - burgundy. But this little sweetie is getting a roses makeover. I don't know if I'll sell it or keep it for storage, but wait till you see it next time. ;-)

When we returned to daughter's house we were sitting around talking monday night and Love Bunny fell asleep in the chair and kinda snored and we just looked at him. I looked at my daughter and said, "You come from the same gene pool, ya know?!" She sobered up quite quickly! She loves her dad though. It was one of "those moments" and quite funny.....

Tagged Again and More Treasures From Calif.!

I've been so busy today I forgot to eat lunch! I've been painting and putting some things away from the trip. I also received these little bottles of roll-on oils today and they are wonderful. I've been buying from this lady on ebay for years and her oils are the best. If anyone is interested in buying them go to this site. She has the best selection and the truest scents of anyone I've tried.

Okay I got this little pink bird cage and it will hang over my huge tub in our master bathroom. I don't think I've posted a picture of our bathroom so I'll try and get a picture of it tomorrow and post here. But I already have a ceiling hook and a scarf draped from that across the tub. I'll put something in the bird cage first before putting it up there.

This little hanging shelf I could NOT resist because I love chickens. They are on our dining area rug and look very french. That wasn't my intention at first; I just liked the chickens! But this hasn't gotten a home yet. I'm waiting until after the remodel to decide where to put it.

I painted the little sconce shelf white. It was an ugly gold and I like it better white. Not sure what I'll put on it. The little spice jars are now pink on top. I'll putting decals on them, putting them in the rack after I paint it white and will probably try to sell it.

I bought 3 of these little domes at a thrift shop in Beaumont, Calif. last week. I was thrilled to get them. I'll think of some vignette to make out of them. Not sure what at the moment though.

Fitty has tagged me to tell 5 things about myself. Thanks, sweetpea, but I think everyone on the blogs knows more about me than my mother! :-) I just put it all out there for everyone to see.

Where have I traveled? I've been to Mexico several times, Ireland, England, Texas, California, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Arizona, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Washington state, Oregon, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Tennessee, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Nevada and most of the states passing through to get to those places.

Where would I like to live? Idaho or Seattle, WA. They are the 2 most gorgeous states I've ever seen.

What is my decorating style? A little formal, shabby chic, romantic, cottage, french, english with just a bit of ME thrown in to make it livable!

How many times have I been married? Only once to the same man for 47+ years.

What is my favorite color? Pink is at the top, but I love pink and yellow together.

What is my proudest accomplishment? Making sure my kids are independent and I've accomplished that!

What would someone be absolutely shocked to learn about me? I can't think of a single thing except that I'm OCD about numbers. I look at license plates and cancel the nines! I know, I know, strange but I can't stop it. I also conjugate words/sentences until I drive myself nuts!!

Roughin' It!!!

Those who know me intimately know what I mean by "roughin' it." Now, I've seen some of the chicks on some blogs with 1957 travel trailers made up to look like shabby chic cottages and to tell ya the truth, pardners, that idea appeals to me. Yep, sho 'nuff does. Some even come up here to Idaho and spend time in their "cowgirl" trailers. I admire them immensely. (You are hearing a "but" here, aren't ya, sweet chicks??)

Yep, for me roughing it is sleeping in someone else's bed, using their bathrooms, eating their food and being in their houses. Motels included!!

Well, that pretty much describes my last 12 days. Sigh.............. Being without my Oil of Olay body wash, not being able to brush my teeth with my electric toothbrush (not room for anything besides a regular brush), not using my water pik, not being able to shower every day because we're so busy running in the car taking someone somewhere or shopping, not being able to turn the a/c to 68 degrees (the perfect temp. in my opinon!), sweating(!!!!!), using truck stops to go to the bathroom. (Here I absolutely must post an aside: To those of you whose hubbies are truckers you should kiss their toes to have to put up with the places they have to go into to get food and use the toilets. They must love you a lot to do that to earn money. My hat is off to those men. We were at one today because Love Bunny simply had to GO and that was the only place on I80 through Nevada at that particular moment, which was becoming crucial! We decided to get food while using the "bathroom" and they had a Subway and Taco Bell. The woman at the Subway said it'd be a while because she had to make 10 subs. We decided on Taco Bell and they had run out of beans, chicken and steak!!! Can you believe it? And so we just ordered soft tacos and they looked highly suspicious, I tell ya!!)

Anyway, on with the roughing it. We drove into the garage, emptied the car, unwrapped all the things we packed ever so carefully and then I jumped in the shower and scrubbed myself thoroughly TWICE to get clean. I slathered my body with shea butter and here I am!!!!!!! I always say "never again" but if I want to see my kids and grandkids I gotta do it at least once a year. Below is a little sample of what I didn't show you while we were down in Calif. Cute little pots and pix. I just loved those cottage pictures! Aren't they cute?

Ooooh, did I say that I've missed y'all?!?! Well, I did. More tomorrow before I go get my massage!!!
