Importance of Comfort

More "eye candy"
I made these little sachets for a lady who wants to include them in her wonderful linens that she sells on ebay. They smell incredibly wonderful! Almost like being in Hawaii.

While we all want our rooms to look nice (I know I DO), we often neglect the obvious: comfort. If a room doesn't have comfortable seating the room won't feel right. I see a lot of rooms that have stiff formal chairs that in no way would be pleasant to sit on. I've been in homes where the sofa requires an extra hand to get an elderly person up from the sofa. That is too low. Or the sofa that is so soft/cushy we sink into it so much that we feel lost in it. How about the dining room chair that is so hard on our bottoms or back that we can't wait to get out of it?! I've had that happen. A couple of times my back has ached for a couple of days after eating at friend's homes. When dinner is through, retire to the living or family room for comfort.

As we get older we notice these things more, but we should always be aware of and consider these things when we are purchasing items for our homes. I once even bought a new sofa because of the little old ladies who would visit me. I wanted them to sit higher and not so low. Think about it.

What a Monday!

What a day!!! Girls, I'm telling ya I'm beat and it's only 6 pm.

I received some delightful surprises in the mail today.........one from a sweetie named Amy. You will notice I've added the envelope and note to my message board in my laundry room. Also I put up the invitation/announcement to my gorgeous granddaughter's "wedding." Now she and Ivann have been secretly married for 7 years now, but she wants a big wedding.
THEY are paying for it! (His mother has no clue they've been married all this time.) Anyway, I'll be displaying pictures next month after the big "TO DO"!!

Couple of thoughts:

1. What does it matter about old girlfriends of your husband; you got the man! Laugh it off; it'll drive your mother-in-law crazy knowing she cannot get to ya! :-)
2. Let things go! Nothing is worth the stress.
3. Living well is the best revenge. Hah!

Off to make dinner..........

Romantic Vinegar?!?!

I've been slackin' since getting home from California. I mean to post several times a week, but sometimes "life" gets in my way!! Hah......

Anyway, I found the most wonderful vinegar. Vinegar?, you say. Yes, a vinegar that is beyond description. Now I love balsamic vinegar but I've never tasted this particular brand. But we decided to give it a try and "WOW"!! This is incredible. Can I say it is a "romantic" vinegar - all sweet and delicioso? (Smacking her lips!) It is just vinegar with no sugar or sweetener but you will think you're drinking a sweet drink when you add this to salads. We particularly like vinaigrettes on our salads. Pure and simple. You've really gotta try this one. Name is Colavita sweet vinegar and you're gonna love it!

For Amy Joy Henry

I heard today that a very special humble sweet lady has breast cancer. Both breasts have to be removed and lots of chemotherapy must be endured. I was very sad to learn of it. This ribbon was created for that lady. Take it and post it on your blog or website. Pray for her and her family. They will need a lot of prayers and support to get through this difficult time.

She once granted me permission to use one of her graphics on her ebay page and I've never forgotten it. What a gracious and kind woman! Thank you, Amy, this is for you.

Making Humdrum Chores Fun

There is no such thing as a humdrum chore. It is our attitude that affects us. As I've said before, I find joy in the mundane things around the house because of the way I approach it. If I have ironing to do, I may take a bit longer to do it, but I go about it cheerfully. It's a difficult chore if one has a bad back, so I "break it into periods of time." I'll iron a few shirts and then come in on the computer and do something, then go back to it and take another "break" when I'm feeling as though I need one. Same with most things. If it is boring to you, it is only because you make it so. Make them fun to do.

I usually have a drink with me when coming to my office; although, I never put the liquid on my desk. It sits behind me on a credenza. This I learned from spilling a glass of mango/orange juice into my keyboard! Never ever again. Always on the credenza.

If you have to write some correspondence then, put soothing music on and a flower on your desk and write! If you have something you absolutely detest doing, just do it. There is nothing to it but to do it. It'll pass quickly and you'll have gotten the chore done. :-) Always have a positive attitude whatever you are doing. Find the "joy" in it.
