La De Da Pictures!!

You thought I probably meant real pictures, right??? Nuuuuuu, I'm making pictures for me. Unusual yes, but definitely pretty!

I have hundreds of fabrics with roses or stripes or polka dots on them and nothing I want to make since not much is selling on ebay, so I thought of doing this after seeing a similar thing in a collage.

Since I knew that there was no way I could get hubby to cut the wood for me, I went to Michael's and bought 22 of these $1.00 frames, which would cut down on the nagging thus saving a marriage. It was much easier than "nagging" hubby, trust me. I already had some frames so I can use those also because I intend to put them in my kitchen around my soffit. I thought it is a clever idea in several ways: use up some of my fabric, bring roses and such in a cohesive way on the wall, EASY, editable at any given time, brighten up that hard to decorate area, E A S Y!!!!! Plus I love roses in any room I can get them, which does not include hubby's home office. I try to stay out of there for now, but just wait a year or two. Then he doesn't stand a chance against me, truuuust me!!! Hah. Okay, back to covering more frames.............

Yummy Vintage Roses Chippy Shabby Train Case

I just started this vintage train case. I'll probably do the whole thing with the cameo roses. Actually it is not hard to do. But I need to see beautiful things around my house for storage. I'm not doing the inside because it's in great shape and I'm only using them for storage. But they sure do turn out quite adorable.

Barefoot Roses Suitcase!

I have a number of vintage suitcases, large and small, that I painted white. I added decals of roses to them and put them on plant shelves around my home. But after seeing one the other day with fabric on it, I was smitten! I have soooo much fabric that I decided to cover them in fabric. I've started with a beautiful pink roses one and will continue until all are covered in roses fabric. Could you ask for anything sweeter than this??!! And I only paid 50¢ for each of the suitcases. What a stunning difference it makes!

Yes, Virginia, There Really Is a Fonz!!!

During my "cleaning/puttering" spree this week I came across my old scrap book. Now, back in the 50s scrapbooking is what scrapbooking in the 2000s is; I can tell you that. So if you like to look with me I can explain a bit about me and MY scrapbooking which didn't really take hold with me. :-)

This is my scrapbook. Yep, we really did wear our jeans like that.......actually, I still roll up my pants legs! I'm sooooo out of it but I'm a pretty cool old lady.

I went to Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, VA. because we lived in Norfolk at one point. But I graduated from York High School in Yorktown, VA. because that's where we lived for my junior and senior year. I have no clue who some of these people were that I have their candidate tags in my scrapbook. Sheeeesh......

It's pathetic to admit but it looks like I had to put my lip prints all over everything.

That little funny face in front is something Nan made me in school and she's been out for almost 30 years! The valentine on upper left is from a guy I knew for a few months in 5th grade!! I didn't even want to associate with him..........long story. I even have a sketch of my "Dream House" I did in the 50s! And about 15 years ago I drew another
"Dream House" and it is almost identical to this one! I hadn't seen this for probably 40 years.

Opened the valentine and saw "I love you from Wylie Frazier"!! I hardly knew the guy! LOL

Party invitations.........now these are definitely vintage and I lived it!!!

Anybody remember Jantzen and Rose Marie Reid swimsuits?!?! These were HOT and the most revealing when I was young.

Old letters from a friend name Gale. I can't even remember who that is!

YESSSSSSSSS! We even had our "Fonz" before the show in the 70s! That was 1957-58 and his name was Ace Alexander. Nice kid but a hood I think. My friend liked him. A picture of our high school on bottom and in middle a military academy a friend wanted to attend.
