This past week I visited with Donnie at New Blessings Everyday, Kelly at Simply-Southern-Suburbia, Lynn at LS Art and Design and Roz at La Bella Vita. They're new to Pink Saturday so check them out and see what they have.

I found these, and more, gorgeous papers recently and couldn't wait to show you how lovely they are. I'm going to use them at mats or maybe just frame them.

Random Thoughts:

We recently bought a camp oven and just love how it cooks while camping. When Love Bunny opened it up and took a look at the instructions, it had this caveat:
If you don't have a copy of these instructions, call 1-800-xxx-xxxx.
Duh, if I don't have a copy of them how in the world would I know where to call? Have some companies gone a bit too far? Hmmmmm???
*

While at a restaurant recently, there was a table next to us with a family—husband, wife, young daughter and young son. I watched as they all zipped out their cell phones and started talking and/or playing games! They didn't communicate at all other than to order their food. What in the world is the matter with families that they can't stay off the phone when dining out? In a public restaurant? With other patrons close by?

Have you ever wondered from where the term severance pay comes? Well, I'm gonna tell ya, chicks. It comes from being beheaded centuries ago. The person being beheaded paid the executioner a bit extra to separate his/her head from their body with one swift stroke. Hence, the severance pay.
*

Love Bunny and I were recently in the bathroom grooming for the day and I asked him a question. He gave me some inane answer and I told him that the answer was stupid. I told him I recognize stupid when I hear it. Yep, he's used to me by now!
*

I am OCD about numerals and letters. When I know we are moving I call ahead to the phone company and ask for certain numbers, not prefixes as that can't be done, but the last 4 digits certainly can. If the one I want isn't available, I ask them to give me choices and they give me a list. I then choose the one I want. I don't like 9s but have a few numerals that I love. I like a cohesiveness in my phone numbers. I also got my cell phone number to have the last 4 digits as my home number. See you can do it.
*

Letters? Same thing. I don't like Ys especially but prefer Is. While I can't do much about that, I still prefer looking at Is. Love As also. ;-)

  3. G'morn, sweet Connie ~ Ohhhh, you do not EVEN want to get me sstarted on this cell phone/droid/game STUFF at the table whether at home or in a restaurant! ... much less the attire parents allow their children to wear. Oy!!

I hope your trip was a lot of fun with Miss C ... & family. I will post our trip shortly ...

Sorry I have not been with you more lately. We finally finished both house constructions & took off for 2 weeks. I apologize, but will be better now.

  4. Now I know the story about severance pay. I like it. Then again, I have always enjoyed the quirky tidbits of information. You are preaching to the choir about cell phone use in restaurants. Drives me crazy. Hope you have a chance to stop over at my PS. See you there. Thanks.

  9. Good Morning Connie Sweetie...
Oh I love the pretty paper you shared today. I should have known that there would be roses somewhere. My you are my Queen of roses sweetie and they so are you. Connie and Roses. Just beautiful sweet friend.

Your comments are right on. I am so tired of seeing people and the kids sit at tables and text and take calls through a whole meal. We
always tell our kids and grands (yes they have them too) no phones allowed at the table when we are out eating, or when they are having dinner at my house. No Ipods either. I don't want any earplugs in while we are eating. And the Grammy has spoken. It is so sad that our society has come to this isn't it?

Oh and you bought a new camp stove. How exciting. Are you going camping again before the cold season arrives to give it a try? I always loved when we went camping each year, we always had such a great time, and Daddy loved cooking with his iron skillet on the Coleman stove. Food always tastes so much better cooked outdoors you know?

Sweetie thanks for sharing with me today As always I so enjoyed myself. You are such a pleasure to come and visit with. I hope you are well sweet friend. Everyday I see my roses, and smile, and think of the beautiful friend that sent them to me.

Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

  10. Love all your pretty papers but most of all you crack me up! I loved your random thoughts and really really agree about the cell phone thing! There was a time we all got along without them! Thanks for making my day!

  11. Connie, I really enjoyed your post today and came out learning something new. I never knew about serverance pay. Perfect!
The cell phone story is just sad. What is wrong with families today. Seems like there is so much free help out there and things just seem to be getting worse. What a waste of time. And that just ruines everyone else's dinner....now lets talk about inconsiderate people....well, maybe not, we would be here forever.
Love the papers and the colors. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

  15. Hi Connie, I finally have a Saturday to just sit and visit my pinkies to my heart's content. We were gone again for six days. BJ says I am the goingest person she knows. Lately I think she is right. Thank you for being a faithful visitor Connie. I always love to visit you and am glad You haven't given up on me.

I LOVE your pretty papers. The roses on the pale pink background is my fave. You've got me going about your announcement tomorrow. Yes, I am curious. I'll be back.

I scrolled down to see all the posts I have missed. I know stupid when I hear it too. That made me laugh. I love the rooms you shared for the most part but a few colors were not right for my taste.

The family with the cell phones is so bad. I am shocked at such rudeness to each other, let alone the patrons sitting nearby.

    Like the quote and agree.

I think your birthday magnets in the shape of roses are so pretty. Did I wish you a happy birthday? If not, Happy belated birthday.

Gotta get visiting, so have a happy day my friend.
    Hugs, Jeanne

  16. Such pretty papers ~ that first one is really doing it for me! And as for your pet peeves ~ I sooo agree with you about leaving the cell phones off at restaurants. I see people doing that all the time, young and old. My SIL says that our cell phones belong in the Smithsonian, but it reaches who I need for it to, and I don't need it for anything else. You know me, I'm not high-tech!!

  17. OMGosh ConnieGal...I'm soooo in agreement with the NixOnCPhone at the Table! Talk about OCD...texting is so outta control with the kids!

Now for the positive stuff...love the pretty papers and can't wait to see what you do with them.

Thank you for your visit today and the comforting words.

  20. Hi, Connie,
Those are beautiful papers!! I know you will find something very wonderful to create from them. I am like you about the cell phones in a restaurant or public place. I feel very concerned when family and friends don't "visit" anymore because they are too tied to their phones, etc. I once asked a friend over for coffee and a visit, and her phone rang constantly. Instead of turning it off, she continued to talk on it off and on the whole visit. It made me pretty sad to think I was not important enough for her to turn it off until later. Oh well, that is the way it goes some time. Have a happy autumn weekend! Vicki

  21. Happy Pink Saturday, dear Connie.

Goodness gracious, girl. You take all of the time you need to heal and feel very much better. You and your love bunny can get better together. I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers.

  22. LOL, instructions. I once rented a car and we had a light come on. I had no idea what the light meant, so I asked my husband to check the glove box for the manual. There was one - on video. Only problem, the car didn't come with a video player. LOL.

One night the family and I went to dinner out. A young man and his probably five year old son sat at a table nearby. The father was on his computer the entire meal. The young boy sat beside him quietly. I felt so terrible and didn't know how to get involved. Luckily, a table with another young family started talking to the boy and he was able to visit with them. So very sad.
