Porches #1

Obviously I love porches as do most of you, and I'm going to share some photos from a book I've had for many years. Porches are not limited to the quintessential one with white porch railings; they come in many sizes as well as styles. Any one of which I'd love to have but I do have a favorite of course.

Brick home. White railing. Covered. Inviting seating. Yuuummm...

Flowers on display. White slatted blinds. Wonderful wicker table and chairs. Antique bench.

This is probably out here in the west somewhere, but it is stunningly beautiful even if it is a bit off the beaten path of porches.

Hammock. White floor boards with a rug. Roses and flowers on a wicker table. Roll up blinds.

Aaaaah, the seashore and most likely a beach for walking on.

Mountain view. Lake. Adirondack chairs. Stately columns on a round porch. Boat house. Lush lawn.

  1. Dear Connie,
I too love porches, you have really picked some wonderful one's
and the last one is my favorite view. Have a wonderful Sunday Dear Lady..Yvonne

  2. All the porches look so inviting...I could sit for maybe five minutes, then I'd have to go do something. Like decorate my's been neglected lately. Thanks for all the inspiring photos.

  3. Thanks for the great porch photos, Connie! You know I love my porch! The only thing that would make it more perfect is if I had a water view...lake or ocean, either would be acceptable!

  4. Oh Connie, we just love our porches! We have double sleeping porches and last year we had them (finally) painted and repaired. It's the first time in 15 years that we have actually used our upstairs porch and we are out there all of the time. The kids sleep out there whenever they can - in fact I was just trying to find some vintage cots so they could be more comfortable. I just love the pictures you posted, I'm going to keep searching for some old wicker and I love, love, love that bench! Thanks for the inspiration. Kathy

  5. I would take them all..they are beautiful and serene..;) thanks for sharing and inspiring..:)

  6. Hello Connie, I'm still making my Pink Saturday visits. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. Love your pink post this week. That bath is adorable, love these porches on this post. Beach front is my favorite! I also love the blue check tablecovers on the one porch.

  7. Thankyou so much for visiting my blogs. I am so blessed to have found you. I am LDS and I agree that woman staying at home to raise their families truly are happier. What part of Idaho do you live in? I will be having a giveaway soon at my blog as soon as my daughter has her baby boy. You'll have to check it out in a couple of weeks or so and see if it is posted.

  8. Oh and I wanted to tell you that i love your paper roses. They are great and the porch post is so lovely. I wish I had a big beautiful porch to sit on. I am not that lucky

  9. Connie, right now I would love to be sitting on the porch by the lake or the beach. Thanks for sharing some dear to us. I wish Porches were used like they were in the 50s and 60s,, but life is so fast paced, no one seems to have time to sit and chat. Hugs, Pat

  10. I have an old neglected house next door that has a wonderful porch. Wish I could give it some tlc. I currently have a balcony that serves as my porch - this morning it was grand up there soaking in the morning sun and birds chattering about - my feet resting on the rail. Ahhhhhhhhh

  11. Ouuu you know I love porches sweetpea!
    Those are beautiful......
I need to make my wrap around porch as inviting as the ones you showcased here!
I know we'd enjoy it more if it were'nt for so many mosquitos!

    Luvs ya,

  12. tis the seaswon for porches, and I love them!

  13. Beautiful porches Connie.
I like to see them all decorated like an extension of the indoors of the house - an extra outdoor room.

  14. Hi Connie,
All those porches are just gorgeous, to me a porch is an extra room to sit relax and day dream in, surrounded by Gods beauty...ahhh
Thank you my sweet friend for sharing these dreamy porches :)
    Have a wonderful week!

  15. Hi Connie,
I love porches too, in fact, when we bought our home that is one of the things that I wanted was a porch to sit on and enjoy!
Thanks for your sweet comments on my diner in our yard and yes, next time you are in Southern California please come by for a visit!!
    Hugs, Ann

  16. Gorgeous photos. the porches look aas though they need visiting, but I'll never get there!

Connie, are you coming in on the letter swap?

  17. I'll take the beach porch! I love them all. I have such a nice large covered back porch, but cannot seem to "capture" any of the beauty of those porches. I still enjoy our porch, even if it isn't quite that pretty.

  18. Hi Connie, Oh how I love porches and the pics you share are all wonderful in their own way and style.
To me, porches are outside rooms just waiting to be decorated. I love the very first you show and the beachy porch.

Thank you for stopping by. Yes, it is hard to believe all those trees had to go.
    Have a great week.

    XO Celestina Marie

  19. Connie your porches are fabulous. I love my porches ... there is something about the beauty & leisure of enjoyment there. Bring on the heat, I'm ready.

  22. Awesome porches. Any one of them would do. Have a great week! From the other Connie

  23. I love that first porch!! Isn't that a MIRROR on the brick wall? And I'm surprised you didn't mention the lil elephant chair in the foreground ~ how fun is that?!?!

    Angelic Accents

  24. Hi Connie!
Love this post! I think I've been in love with porches since we moved into our home back when I was 5. It had a full "back" porch across the back. LOVED IT!

All of these you have shared are gorgeous . . . but I think I am partial to the one by the lake with the Adirondack chair. Nothing better to sit in than an Adirondack chair.

But ...that ocean view is looking mighty nice too ...

Thanks for sharing these! Have a great day! Karen

  25. I think starting the blog on lifestyles is GREAT! I'll be over today to visit!

LOVE THE PORCHES and the story about your g-daughter at 5 make me LAUGH OUT LOUD!

Comments are so nice and I thank all of you that leave one for me.
