Meyers lemons are my absolute favorite lemons. Below you see 3 meyers lemons purchased at the Boise Co-op and one regular one purchased at WM. The WM lemon is a big one so you can see how big the meyers ones are. They are extremely soft, juicy, tangerine-y smell and taste. I can make a whole pitcher of lemonade with one meyer lemon.
This is what it looks like inside before and after squeezing. The fewest seeds of any lemon I've found so far. The WM lemons had about 20 seeds and the meyers lemon had about 4 seeds.
I don't ever buy lemons. I always go for chocolate before making lemon things!
ReplyDeleteGreat lemons. I have been picking lemons from my young tree for months. They are delicious

ReplyDeleteI love lemons. I like cooking with them. I think lemons make everything taste better. The lemons in our grocery stores suck. They are always so small, and the limes....well, that's even worse.
ReplyDeleteMorning, Dear Connieness!~ Oh, I love lemons and these are some beauties! We have a lemon tree in our yard and they get ripe around Christmas! I think that's a great present, don't you? Well, I don't know what my lemons are called but they are very large and juice just oozed out!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Connie,
ReplyDeleteWhere is the Boise co-op located? I would love to make it one of my stops someday. Thanks for sharing about the lemons. The ones at the grocery stores are so tiny.
Thanks for that cute response to my picture comment. You are sooo funny!
Hugs,
June
Wow, I can almost smell those lemons.I like to cook with them also. On fish, of course and chicken. I had never though to compare. I don't think ours are that big.

I didn't even realize there were lemons like that. I'm not domestic enough to make home made lemonade..but I'd sure gladly help you drink it! It sounds YUMMY
ReplyDeleteI have always heard about the Meyer lemons Connie but never lucky enough to get to use some. Maybe some day. For some reason I have had gingerbread and lemon sauce on my mind for a while. That's a fall kind of dessert so I don't know why I keep thinking about it. Need to make some and get it over with. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Girl I am knocking on the door for my ice cold lemonade. Do you hear me in there? I am here! I am here for my lemonade. Those lemons are almost as beautiful as the ones that come off my tree. It is loaded again, and I just can hardly wait for them to get ripe and then we will have lemonade again. Thanks for sharing darlin. I just love a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade. Yours was the best. Thanks honey. Stop by and say hi. Country Hugs and love, Sherry

ReplyDeleteI can just smell those fresh lemons all the way over here on Peek-A-Boo Street. I use lemons all the time around here. Either for cooking or cleaning.
ReplyDeleteOh those are huge! They're perfect for a cute little serving idea I have. I think I might have to make some lemonade...

I've never had fresh lemonade. It sounds lovely! I do like to clean with lemons!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my page.....Im moving to Ore. I fell madly in love with it several yrs ago. Now my guy is from there and its time to move on. Ca. is just too hot, too crowded and too expensive. I dont really like it here anymore, feel like Im drying up. So we are heading for the Oregon coast where his family is. I might have to grow these lemons in a greenhouse up there, might be too cold otherwise. Ill have to see when I find a home.
ReplyDeleteGosh they are huge lemons Connie. Hope you get a good batch of lemonade.

Hello Connie,
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than fresh homegrown lemons! I have only had them a few times but it was enough to make me wonder what they are selling us in the grocery stores. :0)
I wanted to say hello and to tell you I have a remodeling update if you'd like to drop by for a moment!
Have a great day,
Stephanie

Hi Connie, Those Lemons are so yummy looking. I don't think I have seen them here.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad knew a man years ago who ate a whole lemon everyday. He had a beautiful complexion. Not sure if it helped, but he did. I love lemonade.
I have tried to visit you for the past 4 days and still get that site abort sign until tonight. Just so strange.
Have a good weekend.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Oh yum,I love lemonade.I have never seen those big lemons before.
ReplyDeleteHello sweet friend! Thank you so much for the kind comments on my little bloggy thing and for leaving an invite to come and take a peek at your place. What a fun blog! I simply adore Meyer lemons (don't even know the names of any others, now that I think of it) and am trying to grow some of my own on my deck (must protect from that wintry frost here in Grass Valley, you know). So far I have a great crop growing . . . now the trick is to keep them frost-free until harvest.
ReplyDeleteI love lemonade now and again, but prefer a good pot of tea every day of the year (and sometimes twice . . . like today).
Thanks again for the cheerful comment on my blog. You gave me a sweet smile . . . I hope I have returned the favor (and will again and again). : D
