Pink Saturday 3/18/2011 with Eye Candy and Random Thoughts

Happy Pink Saturday once again, my darling little chicks. To view all the participants, go visit with Beverly by clicking on the logo below:

Truthfully, I composed this today starting at about 1 pm because I've been so busy out spending money and driving Love Bunny simply crazy today buying 2 of these. Well, next time he'll go with me when I'm on a tear, won't he? Hmmmm?! Anyway, we'll soon have LIGHT in our dark living room. Yippee! I can't wait. Buying these was a necessity as our large covered north facing porch lets little light into our living room. Know what I'm saying here? I need light! I shall have light soon. But here you got the best shot and it's leaning it against my absolutely so-filthy-ashamed-to-drive car. Sigh...

So let's continue with Pink Saturday. To tell you the truth I'm sick of posting photos of things around my house, but what else am I going to post since I'm not buying many frivolous things (skylights in the above photo excepted, of course) for our home anymore. So I thought I'd just photograph a few things you've probably seen before and play a thinking game: What comes to mind when I mention certain things?

Lauren Bacall in a slinky dress with her hand holding a cigarette smoldering in her cigarette holder?

Big luscious oranges in a California orange grove?

Watching old 40s movies and listening to the Big Bands of the 40s?

Going on a road trip just for fun and no destination in mind?

The City of Angels where the sun goes down and stars are born?

Tract homes and mini-malls?

The first time you saw a true hero in a movie? I've loved Humphrey Bogart all my life.

Ugliest city you've ever been to?

Running behind a truck spraying fog for insects and loving it?

A movie that you could see without your parents along?

The very first boy that made your heart do flip-flops? Mine was a guy named Leonard. ;-)

Something that simply made you feel good?

Wearing a dress that was elegant and the skirt stuck out so far with crinolines?

Simply walking with your sweetheart holding hands?

You don't have to tell anyone the answers, just think and ponder.

  1. Oh my Connie, would I ever love to get my hands on some of your beautiful things. I see lots and lots of ribbons and roses, just all too wonderful. Your towels are just too pretty to use!! Oh la la, the lace!!
Yes, you beat me. I got all messed up do to daylight savings time. We don't turn the clocks and so I had to stop and think......half the year we are on pacific time and the other half, it's mountain, you do the math, too hard for me!! HA! I'll be waiting for you next week girlfriend, Happy Pink Saturday, Char

  2. I love thinking about your questions. I must tell you though my favorite has to be the first one. I have 14 year old Maltese & Bischon dogs. Probably one of the only expensive impulse buys we have made. We went to buy a hot tub filter, and came home with 2 white bundles of energy. (Didn't know about puppy mills then) Did I mention? Their names are Bogie & Bacall.

    Have a happy pink week.

Hope & hugs to you and yours

  3. I have solar tubes and I love them! Love all the questions and your photos are great! Your towels are adorable! Happy Pink Saturday!

  4. It seems to me you found plenty of yummy pinks to share with us....enjoyed them all!
I did not know they made small skylights like that....those would be great in lots of rooms!

  5. Beautiful pink post and clever question! Please go by for a Giveaway!

  6. Wonderful fabric , the roses, the roses!!!!

    Happy pink Connie !
et un grand bonjour de France.

  7. As usual a wonderful thought provoking post! I've heard those particular sky lights are supposed to be wonderful!! I was never into Humphrey Bogart until I met my LoveBunny. He asked me to watch Casablanca with him & i've been hooked ever since.
    Licks & Wags, Niki

  8. Hi Connie, I love your solar light tube. I want one badly in my guest bathroom. No window and I hate that. I loved your questions though and your lovely pink things. I am still pondering the questions. Smile. My first boyfriend's name was David.

    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Hugs, Jeanne

  9. It makes me so happy to look at all of your pinks. Your peg racks are especially sweet. As far as vehicles we're embarrassed to drive, I'm still fortunate enough to have the solution: a strong, 19 year old son to wash away the evidence of neglect! Have a wonderful weekend! Terri

  10. Love all your beautiful fabrics!!!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  11. Hi Connie!

I haven't visited for awhile! Love all these pretty pinks you have shared with us today! I am pondering your questions LOL!

  12. It would strain my little brain to come up with too many answers so I'll just say every photo was beautiful.

  13. Oh I just love your pretty pink collection and grand memories!

Spring is such a glorius time!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  14. Oh such pretty pretty pinks, I think my favorite is the fabric with the pink roses... it's so beautiful! Happy Pink Saturday!!!
    Blessings~~ Daphne

  15. Every photo was pretty and clever questions. . . my brain is too fried at this time of the night to come up with many answers though. I did hop onto your followers list though - I have enough sense left to know that is a good idea!

  16. Hi Connie, I love all your pretty pink eye candy pictures!
I guess your fingers weren't quick enough and you let Dana get the #1 spot today???
    Have a happy pink saturday!
    Hugs, Ann

  17. I do so enjoy following your blog and admire your eye catching style. Like you, I have to have light in my home and those skylights seem to me to be a lot cheaper than building a new modern house as we did!! Have a wonderful pink Saturday, I shall.

  18. Hi Connie! Love all of your pretty pinks, especially your beautiful fabrics. Now go tell Love Bunny to get busy and install those solar lights so that your dark corners disappear!!

    Lots of love,
    Susan and Bentley

  19. Happy Pink Saturday, Connie! The solar tube is a new one to me, but it looks like the perfect answer to a dark room! This house has lots of light in the main living areas....and I'm so happy about that! Our last one was dark inside.

Loved your random thoughts....very thought provoking! I also enjoyed seeing your pretty pinks!

Is Love Bunny the installer of those lights? Hope he gets them put in soon for you!

    Have a great weekend! dana

  20. Gorgeous photos, Connie.

Don and I always a wish to bundle the dogs in the car, and start driving - or rent a Winnebago and start driving.

  21. Good Morning and Happy Pink Saturday!

Love the pinks, Have a wonderful day and enjoy.

    Warm Wishes, CindyLew

  22. Hi Connie, Love all your pink eye candy. My favorite: the towels and roses. Interesting questions but the one that stood out was the road trip. Just did that back in Sept/Oct last yr after I retired. SOOOO fun and makes me want to do it again. Blessings on your week.
