Bedrooms 12/2/09

I hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving and has returned home safely.
~*~

A darling vignette with an old washstand and bowl. To complement the scene the owner has hung a sweater and various items on a trellis and it looks just fabulous. I have a trellis just like that with no place to put it. *Sigh*.....

Oooh, to have the luxury of a small dining table in a bedroom would be exquisite, don't you think? I do.

I think I shall go find a pair of hubby's old USMC boots and let them establish a presence on a plant shelf in my living room. After all, this looks fantastic, so why not?

An artist's bedroom with the brushes just waiting to be picked up and put to canvas.

Bead board hints at a cottage by the sea to me. Snuggling up in a fluffy robe and a bed with wonderful comforters is a luxury for sure.

  2. Oh sweetie...
You sure found some eye candy to share this morning. I just love it. I love the idea of having a table in the bedroom, but who has a bedroom that large? Surely not I.

The paintbrushes on that little table I love. It says lets get busy for sure. I love it.

Thanks for sharing sweetie. Please pop over and see what I have been busy making the last few evenings. You will love it.
    Country hugs...Sherry

  5. I'm just lucky if I can see my bedroom floor! lol Maybe I should work on that today... maybe not.

I'd love a romantic hideaway, but Love Monkey wouldn't be caught dead in it so I have to remain happy in cool, clean tones. It's not bad, but sometimes a girl needs pink. I'm sure you can understand! lol

  6. Ooo-Rah. Thank your hubby for me...for serving our country.
And that's a good idea about the boots. I shall tell my Marine son not to toss any old ones! Their boots are pretty special I think. Like a cowboy and his boots. :-)

    Enjoyed visiting!

  8. Hi Connie, Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was especially blessed as little Miss Ave Lynn decided to make her way into the world the day after Thanksgiving as her Mom and Dad and big sister were visiting Santa and having lunch. What a sweet story they will have to tell later on in years. Your photos today are just gorgeous. Happy White Wednesday. xo Lynn

  9. Connie, Hoping you had a wonderful and Blessed Thanksgiving. I caught up on your blog and LOVE the pink tree. My aunt had one and I made her some clear snowflakes and icicles for it and a few other things, she had the other stuff and it was gorgeous and people thought she had a designer come in and do it. I haven't heard from you since I emailed you---hope I wasn't too open. I love the paper roses you made. You are such a talented sweet chick and would love to meet you some day. ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))Pat

  10. Hi sweetie...
I wanted to pop over and talk a minute about my little snowman. You asked how I ever created him. Well, I was remembering when I was a girl and I did those yo-yo projects out of cloth? Well, I thought why couldn't I make a larger circle and make a good ball that way. That is what I did, I cut a circle, and then drew it up like a draw bag, in the bottom piece I filled 1/3 rice and the rest polyfil. The middle and top are only polyfil, and I stuffed them super tight. Love it. Then one day while I was tieing a new play sock for my pup, I thought it looked like a stocking cap when I tied the knot in it for Bruiser to pull on, so I left the ribbed in for the hat, and just turned a cuff, put a little trinket on the cap, and then after I tied the knot, I slit the end of the sock like a little tassel. Worked for me. The other sock I split open and cut a scarf, on the ends I fringed it, and tied it around his neck. You have to piece the scarf to make it long enough to go around his neck, but you can find so many cute socks this time of year, that I thought it would be cute to use one for a scarf.

It is really just busy work, sewing and stuffing. Nothing else involved. I imagined that fleece or flannel would also be really cute. So many fabrics I think would work.

Have fun and if you need anything else just holler at me.

    Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
