Years ago when we knew we'd be moving to Idaho from California I shopped for a year. Yes, I truly did. I bought things that I didn't think I could get in Idaho and because I knew we'd be living on less money and may not be able to afford it after the move. However, we have been truly blessed by the Lord since moving here. So one thing I want to tell you about today is storage. I bought the most adorable little shoe boxes and file boxes. I even made some out of heavy card stock and covered them myself with wonderful old papers. I store my bank statements, old love letters, letters from my children and grandchildren, lovely stationery, my decoupage papers, lovely colored papers with notes I want to remember and many other things in them. I even keep pencils, stamps and in some just things I don't know what else to do with. It just really is so much more attractive than ugly boxes we snatch from stores and use. These "perk" up a room. And who would guess what they contain?! Some are covered with fabric or vintage wrapping papers. I have 2 pictures of a few of them below so you might be able to do them also. "Live Beautifully!"

Oh I love them!!!! -sigh- They do look soooo much better than plain file things.
ReplyDeleteBut my question is... where do you find the wonderful old paper, to cover them with? And maybe, could they be covered with fabric?
Not that I'm usually brave enough to try. But... They are lovely. Thank you for the inspiration.
