Life is a Series of Photoshoots or Why Are You Taking Pictures of My Refrigerator?

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
on yellow watermelon!!! It tasted yellow not pink! Hah. Actually tasted just like a pink/red watermelon if you can get past the yellow look!
***

Jack is always wondering why I'm taking pictures of his shop, ties, chili supper, spaghettti, lettuce and the refrigerator. I don't know other than I need material for blog posts. I take a look at everything that has the potential for a good blog story.

Well, today we went to WM and he got a watermelon. It was kinda funny looking. Green stripes were all over it. He said it was fine. Well, I just cut it and it's "yellow" not the red watermelons I'm used to. I've never had a yellow watermelon. Hope it tastes good!!

Then I tried getting it in the fridge. Not much room in there when we've got 15 bottles of salad dressing in there for our dieting. But it is clean and tidy. Lots of food.

Some Exciting News, Sweet Chickadees!

My sweet dear friend Stephanie of Angelic Accents and I have had our heads together (yeah, yeah, dangerous I know!) and talking about hosting something and have come up with a wonderful idea. She and I have just opened up new blogs with the purpose of selling only of our Flea Market Friday items. So to help us celebrate our grand openings and to help you become acquainted with our goodies we are offering, we've decided that both of us do a BLOG GIVEAWAY! And, my sweet chickadees, when we give something away, it is a treat. :-) Connie - ME! - is giving this away.

So here is what you have to do:

Contest GIVEAWAY runs from Friday, June 13th to Friday, June 20th at midnight. Just visit Connie's new blog here and Stephanie's new blog here and leave us a comment and your name will be thrown in the hat for a drawing.

Purchase an item and you name will thrown in the hat TWICE!

How cool is that?!?! Two separate GIVEAWAYS! Two wonderful gifts! Two new blogs!

AND while you are blogging tomorrow, be sure and check out all our other friends who are selling items on Flea Market Friday. There truly are some great buys out there.

Blue Clothespins Bag

I truly hate to admit this but I've almost forgotten how to make these little bags! I thought I had written down instructions but nuuuuuuuu, can't find where I had written them down or made a pattern so it was back to step one. I had to make 2 of them to figure out the dimensions to fit the hanger. Sheeeeeshhhhhhhh...... But I think I've finally got it figured out. This is my little practice one for today. It kind of reminds me of europe with the fabric.

Okay, enough lollygagging - got to go write down the instructions or make a pattern before I forget it again. Oh, btw, I'd keep watching my blog for a couple of days. You just never know what I might do............hmmmmmmmm......... I've giving you fair warning, sweet chicks!!! Hah........ :-)

Shabby Roses Clothespin Bag

This is one of the clothespin bags I've used in my laundry. See, laundry rooms don't have to be dull or boring! Mine certainly isn't. I make them out of roses and lace and pretty fabrics to go with my home.

In the laundry room I put up a border and message board and little cute boards with pegs on them. I've posted one little picture below. My broom, feather dusters, dust pan and various thing I hang are on ribbon hangers.

If you want to see it in its entirety click on the little picture to the right here and take a peek. It's hard to get good pix in there because we had a solar tube installed and there is so much light it's almost impossible to photograph properly.

Bye the way, I've created a new blog to post items for sale. I don't want to do it on here so you might like looking at it from time to time. I've still not had a lot of time to put items on but if you are interested you can take a look at this little bag on there for sale now. I plan on making more of them. I also plan on selling a LOT of decorating books on there in the near future. I doubt you'll be disappointed! But this blog is just for "blogging." The other one is to sell and you can to view it by clicking on La Maison Rose.

Rose Garden & Chippy Frame

Today is a 2 post day. But wouldn't you know it, just when I go out to photograph the roses, the sun decided to hide behind clouds!! Aaaaacckkk!! I'm just going to post them anyway so you can see what we can grow here in the western deserts.

First of all, look at the shabby and chippy frame I found today in a store in Boise. It's not vintage but looks like it and that's all I truly care about. I think I'll take out the mirror and put in a foam or cork board for another message board or just a frou-frou-y type board to hang tags or gorgeous things on it. I'll show the finished product soon.

You really need to click on each of the roses pictures to get an idea of how beautiful they are. Now, I know everyone has seen beautiful roses but this is an accomplishment here in the desert and especially with hubby doing the "growing." He's putting down weed plastic so he can put more bark down out front. I threw in a picture of some pretty pansies and a rhododendron that is struggling for survival here but I think it's going to make it. Not like what we could grow in California though.

The last 2 pictures are of a little mosaic table I got for a song today! I just love it. Wouldn't you know though that the store we went into had a woman hubby knew and he introduced us when I had barely run a brush through my hair and no makeup on at all?!?!?! I wanted to crawl into a hole, but she was nice and carried the table up to the front of the store for us.
