Just Some More Thoughts 8/1/13

For those of you who don't know or realize it, I have a Pinterest page with almost 10,500 images. All "eye candy" you would love to see. I post often there. Go visit it. I really don't like tooting my own horn but I will here: In just 6 short months, there are over 6,800 followers there, so you know the images are beautiful. Your choice. But if I were you, I wouldn't miss them. ;-)

Reading the news lately on the internet as we have no television to reference, I've wondered just how low, degrading our society can go. We are warned of this in scriptures but we don't take heed?? Hubs and I have decided to read scriptures more in the evening. It's easy to get out of the habit. For us, that's when we notice our lives get disruptive or out of sync. Then it'll hit us upside the head and we have to do a 180 to get back in sync. But we've noticed certainly from when we were kids, younger adults and middle-aged parents how bad it is getting.

The singer Justin Bieber should have his bottom whipped by his parents. What a brat. I know he's a teenager but surely his parents could step in. What's wrong with them? Are they blinded by the money he probably makes. Personally, I've never heard him "sing" or whatever it is he does. But he certainly is "trashy" as my parents would have said. He's certainly a poster boy for birth control if there ever was one! Bratty, degrading, stupid, malicious. And, no, I'm not serious about the birth control remark.
*

How can the politicians who get caught doing degrading, immoral things say they're sorry AFTER getting caught?! That's not sorry for the act. That's sorry for getting caught. I'm very familiar with this as I'm a parent! Seeking 2 weeks of therapy as the San Diego (a city I've lived in and love) mayor has said just doesn't cut it. They all say they're going in for therapy after their behavior becomes public; why didn't they do it before that? Resign or throw the idiot out. He's had 5 women come forth with accusations against him and won't quit. His words: "My failure to respect women is unacceptable." But this was only after he got caught. And it's on video what he's done. He's a pervert plain and simple. And the other idiot "sexting" to women? What is the man thinking? How humiliating for his wife, especially after getting caught twice. My heart goes out to her especially. This is for either political party. Morality is having good morals, not a political party.

Unwed mothers. I pity them, really feel sorry for them because our daughter was a single mom quite young after divorcing her hubby. It isn't an easy road for them or their children. I'd love to see them married with fathers in the home. It makes all the difference in the world to the kids to have a loving family, a father who loves, respects and cares for their mother. I've even seen articles where living together with a man and the woman calls him her fiancé and that's after years of living together. Honey, if he hasn't married you before now, he ain't ever gonna!

This discussion came up before hubs and I got married. While a man will say, "I love you; let's have sex/live together and get to know each other." My answer to the man would be, "If you love me, you wouldn't even ask." Stops them dead in their tracks right there.

Why in the world would some races kill their unborn? That was Margaret Sanger's reason for birth control. It certainly looks like it's working but how sad at the cost of a beautiful race of society and gorgeous children. There will be a price to pay in the next life, trust me on this one. It saddens me to see any child wretched from its mother's womb. Sad for the baby certainly, but it does to take its toll on the mother's psyche. (Personal experience with a loved one confirms this.) I pray for goodness to overtake evil on a regular basis. But evil is winning at this moment in time. But I have faith that it won't win the final battle. In fact, I know it won't win in the end.

Another story out of New Zealand tells of a man, a chef still working, being deported because of his weight. He immigrated there 6 years ago and, although he has lost 66 pounds, he is still overweight, so at the beginning of May they told him they're throwing him and his wife out of their home and the country because the national health service says he's too "costly" to have on their health care system. He was told his weight is not acceptable. So what do they do with the citizens who live there who become overweight? Boggles the mind.

Okay, I'm off my ranting for today. Sorry, if anyone is offended, but it is my blog to rant sometimes if I want, which is rare.

Yes, I love this living room. It's very original and colorful.

I just don't get the "falling apart walls" syndrome going around. Tacky, in my opinion.

You just can't have too many roses.

Love this lampshade also. If only I could paint.

Cute way to display items.

This is a swing that can be hung by ropes on a porch, put legs on it or can be a dog bed. I don't think I'd give a dog this though.

A cute assortment of teacups, pots and bottles on a pink and gold table.

Yes, I'd take this chair in a heart beat also.

Lovely! Look at the lampshade. Adorable.

And, of course, you can't have too many chandeliers in your home.

Sighing with delight. What a place off the dining room.

Another darling cabinet to store things in.

Loving this chair with all the different fabrics.

I think this blue kitchen is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.

This looks suspiciously like a Charles Faudree sun room design. I absolutely love his work.

Tidbits:

More good news from nature: Flies spend 10% of their time vomiting.

One acre of peanuts produces enough peanut butter for 30,000 peanut butter sandwiches.

Linking up with Pink Saturday.

  1. Thank you for that charming tidbit Connie,I didn't really want to know about the habit of flies!!

Politicians and their words...for that's all it is, just words. It has no real meaning, so remorse, no wish to start over.
What is our world coming to?

  2. The extra pretty pics were enjoyed after reading about the ugly truth of our present society. Sad, shameful times we live in. The world says tolerate. The Word says be holy.

  3. Buttonchief7" said it exactly. The world says tolerate. The Word says to be Holy. Amen and Amen. Thank you for your "rant". It frightens me, the world we're leaving to our children and grandchildren. But...we were told that in the last days this would happen. Come Lord Jesus.

On a brighter note, once again, I love every single one of your photos. They brighten my day.

    Blessings,

    Betsy

  4. Such truthful 'rants'!! I feel the exact same way, and know that goodness will win in the end. Society in general, is so evil. Morals of so many of our leaders is nonexistant!

    Beautiful photos, btw!!

  5. Use your freedom of speech while you can as it may come to the point we cannot the way things are going. It does all of our souls good to have a good "rant" now and then.

  7. I hear you, Connie. I get disgusted every time I turn on the news. Events seem to be unfolding exactly the way the the scriptures say they will. I'm afraid for humanity. No wonder we are told to think on the things that are excellent and praiseworthy. If we don't, we'll go insane! Your photos are quite a treat - those chairs are to die for! Hugs, Terri

  8. I'm on the same mind set as you are Connie. I don't read the paper anymore, we do watch some PBS programs, but other than that, I read my favorite blogs and I read a lot of Christian novels. Lots! I've taken up embroidery for the times I don't want to read. The world is going just like the scriptures tell us. We have 2 couples as very long time friends, who were not Christians. They respected our practice of grace before a meal, at their house or a restaurant. And lately we have both witnessed to them and asked then how they can have any hope if the don't believe in God?
3 out of 4 of them have asked us to pray for them, (we've been praying as long as we have known them) and we have prayed for them, with them. Why is it people say they don't know how to pray? How can you not know?
I'm sorry I got carried away. Blessings to you and yours Paula Lusk

  10. The things coming out of the White House are just unbelievable. We are shocked at all the "phony" scandals...the sex stories...the lying...cheating..."don't give a damn" attitudes.
Letting Hillery get by with doing such a BAD job that 4 men were killed...and, you know what??? She IS going to be our next president because it seems NO BODY CARES anymore.
Whew....I need to go fix my breakfast and calm down....
Oh, and I love your pink images...Happy Pinks...

  11. Amen to your 'rant'. What comes to mind is Isaiah 5:20. I cannot go online or see the news without feeling sick at heart. On another topic, love the photos- especially the teacups and lovely homes. HPS!

  12. Beautiful images indeed! I too am in deep prayer over the state of our country. Things can be made right if a person wants them too not just if they are caught as you said.

  15. I agree with you on all of it. I think the San Diego mayor is up to about 16 women now who have come forward.
