Romantic country and shabby chic have a great deal in common in my opinion. Both styles are comfortable, use shabby elements along with romantic elements. Both express a desire for a very liveable style along with things that would be considered unfashionable before the 90s.
I consider this a handsome room. But it is very feminine and masculine both.
This is my type of room—comfy, white sofa with a plethora of pillows.

I think I like the first one better, the bedroom. It makes you want to jump into the bed with a book and tea and get comfy. Thanks for the show.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful rooms! I'm not sure what my style of decorating is. I think it is a mixture of many styles. I guess that means it's eclectic?

Hi Connie, what wonderful rooms. I fell in love with the dining area. Would love to be able to sit a table in front of a fireplace, how romantic that would be. This was such a fun post.. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteI love the couch with all the pillows, sooooo beautiful!

I love the beams on the ceiling. About pillows ... I love them and have them everywhere. My husband ... not so much. He likes to toss them aside out of his way. Viva la difference!!

Hi Connie, we arrived home on Weds. night. It is good to be home leaving Florida at 96 degrees. The graduation was lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love these rooms for the most part. I am not a fan of white. My favorite was the first photo, although it would be a stretch for me to decorate like that. I wish I had a spare bedroom to decorate. No chance of that. HA!
Have a great day. I have a good read on my post today if you have a bit of time.
Hugs, Jeanne
Connie, that is some beautiful rooms, but I especilly an drawn to the lattice and shabby green, of course my chairs might have to be pink. Love Ya, Pat
ReplyDeleteI love the log cabin...but am not sure I could live with all that wood!

Just one word - OOOOOH! Followed by DROOOOOL....
ReplyDeleteLove the handsome bedroom - you're exactly right. Masculine enough for a man not to feel an intruder, but soft enough to feel feminine. I love the strong colour too.
The white sofa - yes, exactly my thing too - although, with Himself, not a practical solution. So we have loose covers: beige whalebone corduroy velvet for Winter, and the Summer look is a distressed-finish fabric which is a closeweave coffee, almost (but not quite) a denim, more of a suede nap. Cushions feature heavily.
I always love your room set photos, always some great ideas to steal.
