What Is It About Organizing?

Women are notorious organizers. I am. We need a certain order in our lives or we can't function well. So...organizing again. Yep, I had to clean out some things. I know, I know, I keep doing this but I am trying my level best to get rid of some things. If more of you chicks lived near me you'd love what I'd be willing to give you. This is just the house part. Wait until we get to the attic Love Bunny made up over the garage. AND we've made several trips to the thrift stores and sold some things on craigslist.

This is the craft room closet emptied out and after getting rid of several boxes of pillow stuffing and 5 pillow forms.

This is the next day after selling some of the stuff on craigslist. I couldn't empty the whole closet into the room at once. I had to get rid of some stuff to make room for the rest of the stuff in the ROOM!

In fact, for this photo I almost killed myself falling because I can't get over this stuff here easily. True! This is higher than it looks here, chicks.

And why am I doing this again you ask? One reason: food storage. Love Bunny and I—mostly ME—decided we needed more storage for food. It's a Mormon thing, trust me. So moving from 5,000 square feet to 1,800 square feet didn't leave us much room for that and we had to improvise. (This means I had to give up some craft closet space, which I was willing to do.)

Even storage up top for some additional appliances I don't use that often. More food will be on the other shelves soon.

Is this pathetic?

Love Bunny has more space in his office now but assures me I can use it for things if needed.

My office/computer room. I've only begun to start clearing out some stuff. It just doesn't make sense for 2 people to have so much "stuff"!

This is a pencil/pen drawer in my desk in this office/computer room. It this pathetic or what? NOW, this is in addition to pens in holders in every single room in this house except the bathrooms. I draw the line there; that room is for reading, not writing; although, I have been known to take magazines and pens in there. ;-) This drawer is next. I plan on putting them on the shelves in a box in the closet.

  1. Your cluttered room looked like my basement today...It looks aweful while your cleaning and straitening but when it's all done...it's pure heaven...until it gets messed up again! No matter how much I try to KEEP it cleaned up and pretty while I'm crafting, it never fails, I always have a mess again.....Now that I have more room, I wish I lived close to you, I would have taken some of that off your hands! ;-) Have a nice week Connie! Hugs, Jennifer

  9. I recently gained my two sons rooms. I decorated them all pretty and now find that I have more and more boxes of stuff appearing in them. I think all of this stuff multiplies when we are not looking!

  14. Connie, this looks all too familiar to me. Lord have Mercy girl. You are doing the right thing. Our children will not be happy disposing of our lifetime of stuff. Keep it going girl. I am inspired to do the same.

  15. I know there are some girls out there just drooling wishing they lived on your block. It's so true what is someone's trash is someone's treasure. It looked like a lot of treasure in those piles to me. Good thing I live so far away. Stella

  16. Oh Sweetie...
You just tickle me so. I love coming and seeing what sort of trouble you are into each day. My word I just couldn't believe it. Your space looked a little like mine had started to look. Man it adds up quick and then we have to stop and clean again, so that eventually we can bring home again. It always happens.

You asked about my spoons. I have sat and looked at these darn spoons and tried to think of what would fit in that space and things just come to me. I have so more ideas swinging around, so there are more coming. I have so much fun creating.

I wish I lived close to you, we would have so much fun crafting. I love making things.

Have a great day sweetie. I love ya girl. Country hugs...Sherry

  17. Goodness Sweetie, you sure have been busy. I wished I lived near you too! Closets are looking great. I'm fixing to start going back to coupons, refunds and stocking up on basics myself. I used to do it and always had plenty on hand and saved a lot of money. With this economy it's time to go back. I have Mormon family and I certainly understand, they did it too. I actually love the family-ness of the Mormon church.

Thank you again so much for coming by to lend me support. Your a true and dear friend.

    Lots of love, Tracy :)

  18. Hey there sweeite!

I am SOOOO glad to know its NOT just me! But I do think I created a monster with cleaning my room...still have one to go! lol

I also had to make more room in our large closet in the laundry room for additional storage of things...never seems that you can find enough space for things even in newer homes where they make bigger closets!

LOVE your tassle...I was gonna do a tutorial but it looks like you figured it out. What did you use as your base? Its sooooo pretty!

    Love ya!
