To those of you who read this story about M I just wanted to update you. Or if you're a new reader, I'd suggest you go read this touching story also about this veteran.
I received word a week or so ago that M died. He was brought in to the hospital and his wife called my son who was on duty that night and he rushed down to the ER. M was so bad my son knew it wouldn't be long. I weep as I post this because of that young father leaving behind his 6 young children and a wife. I can't explain why this particular person and circumstance touched me so deeply but it has. Saying all the platitudes won't serve his family well at this point. All they know is that they won't have their father or hubby around.

Connie, I have just been reading your previous post about M. My heart goes out to his family. And to your son and his wife too, what a wonderful man you raised.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you too, as you go about this difficult time. You don't have to know people personally to care about them, to even love them. People can touch your heart from miles away, even hundreds or thousands of miles away they can touch your heart, with just one word or a sentence.
You, my dear Connie, have touched my heart with these 2 posts. I can tell from them you are a wonderful loving person.
Many hugs from far across the ocean to you, and my prayers for you, your family and the family of M.

What a sadness Connie. It just doesnt seem right....but we can rely on our heavenly Father knowing the plan for our lives, and for this man's family too. Prayers for them.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember the story of M. This is such sad news.
ReplyDeleteWe will be praying for the family of this young man.

Hi Connie, How sad to learn that M passed away. I can't imagine how hard this is on his wife and kids. I know your son gave great comfort to that family--during his illness and at the end. What a blessing to have him in the health care profession.
ReplyDeleteI also read your post about your experience in the doc's office. What great words for all of us to read and remember!
You are such a joy to "know", Connie. On one hand you are so danged funny and bring such a sence of joy and life to your blog and with the comments you leave on posts (you have an amazing gift with words) and on the other hand you are so sensitive to those around you---so caring and loving! You must be one fantastic wife, mom and friend! Dana
Please know I will be lifting up this family in prayer.
ReplyDeleteLove & Prayers,
Ronda
Connie, I did read the post about M, and I was very moved by it. What a great testament to your son to have cared so deeply for this man and his family. Your son must have touched their hearts in a very special way, as they did him. You have every right to feel pleased that you raised such a wonderful human being.
ReplyDeleteYour son, M and his family, and you are all lifted in prayer today by me. Blessings and peace,
ginny
Connie,
ReplyDeleteWords fail me at this time. I read about M.... It made me want to go hug my Husband of nearly 41 years. You are so sweet to share this... sometimes we need a jolt to show just what we do have.
Love,
Marilyn
Oh Connie I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I say your loss because it is obvious at this point how much your cared.
ReplyDeletePrayers to you and prayers for M's family as they try to move on without him. One thing you did say that was wonderful...you and M and K have a bond from this life into the next! How special!

Connie, it may take me an hour just to reply to this beautiful post.I am so sorry to hear that M was taken home to be with his Heavenly Father. I read the story and I can barely see. You have done God's work with your family and you are truly blessed to tell this story. M's wife and children needed someone and God sent them your K. Connie,
ReplyDeleteIt is heartbreaking to hear any news as devastating as this. It doesn't matter whether we know a person or we don't. Just the mere fact that anyone has to die so young and leave their family and friends behind grieves my heart so.
So very sad. Thank you for letting us know.
