New Camera for Love Bunny

Last weekend hubby had a model train open house at his club. It's a "once-in-a-lifetime" event, he said. Riiiiiiiiight, but no matter. He took some pictures during it and wanted to include them in a press release he'd written for our local paper. When he downloaded them the next day, he walked into the family room and asked me to come see and I knew something was wrong. The pix were there but they were blank. I thought at first the lighting was bad but editing them produced no results and he assured me the lights were all on for the crowd that attended. There were no pix. He was devastated. I truly hate to see him so disappointed but there was nothing I could do to salvage anything. Soooo last night we went to WM and bought him a new camera. We always have 2 of cameras, computers, that kind of thing in this house! Mainly because he uses one sometimes and I'm using mine just about every single day and I don't share!! ;-) Anyway, I gave him the old camera bag, which I had made and made myself a new one. Thought you'd like to see the results. I've lovin' it......that quilted roses fabric is my favorite "thick quilted" fabric. Plus it stores my 2 extra batteries, the instruction booklet and an extra memory card - just in case. All contained in about 7" x 6". But it sure made a cute camera bag instead of one of those black bags on the market. I live my life beautifully in all ways, chicks.

  1. That is so sweet Connie and much nicer than the usual run of the mill black bag.

  2. Ah, nothing is more frustrating than ruined pictures that are/were so important to get. Hopefully with a new camera, Love Bunny won't have to suffer the loss of pictures again.

    Cute bag!

  3. What a great idea, you know I never thought of that. I take my camera with me everywhere (since I started blogging), I am always fussing about that ugly little bag bag I got at WM, I'm for sure gonna have to make me a beautiful bag, it'll make carrying the camera that much more fun.
    Thanks for the idea!

  4. Hi sweetie... That is a very nice bag... Do you sell those too??? Sorry about your husbands bad luck with the pictures... Can he get some from another train enthusist??? Well at least now he has a new camera...

  5. Hey Connie!
Oh my goodness, I hate that happened to hubby's pictures. I know he was disappointed about it.... that happened to us once, on vacation. Boo hoo, I know how he felt. On a beautiful note...that camera bag is precious...I love the fabric!
Hope you are having a great day!

  6. Good Morning Connie, Smiles to you! Love your bag and think you should make many for the masses. :)

  7. Ugh, hate when cameras go bad. I'm glad he got a new toy and you got a new bag :0). It's very cute and quite 'you'.
    Enjoy your day!

  8. Love the camera bag....never thought to make a new one...but lost mine over the I was meant to find your blog.

  10. Love the camera bag....never thought to make a new one...but lost mine over the I was meant to find your blog.

  11. Hi Connie! I've been away for a few...and just perused that last few days of your blog. I'm so sorry about the camera/pics disappointment!! So frustrating!

I also want you to know that I was amazed to read you are almost 70! I hadn't really thought about it (your age) before, but I want you to know that I think you are amazing and a wonderful role model to me!! You make getting older look fun and wonderful--not something to be dreaded. I've just stepped into my 50's (I'll be 51 in April) and still 'feel' like a kid in so many ways--other ways, not so much (wink!)
Anyhoo--just wanted you to know that I think you're FABULOUS and I know there are many, many other chickees out there who feel the same way!!
Keep up the great blog and thanks for keeping it real!!

  12. What a nice camera bag. I really feel bad for your hubby. It's almost disheartening to have problems with photos when you're really looking forward to them.

  13. The floral bag is beautiful. I have a quilted toile backpack that looks very similar. I adore it, and would have purchased more had they any. Now I'm on a quest to find another. Soft(cotton) fabric is much more comfortable to carry. The commercial camera bag straps can be rough on a chickies delicate shoulders.

    Sweet Wishes,

  14. Awwww, I hope your hubby can get other pictures to use and that he likes his new camera!

I LOVE that camera bag! Are you going to make them to sell? I've been using an ugly black cosmetic bag that I had on hand, and I hate it! Would love to have one of those adorable quilted bags you made!

    Have a lovely day!
    Margie :)

  15. Hey Lady, We all went through the experience in years past of taking a lot of picts. and having no film in the camera, This is just like that. These would probably sell, you should try some of them.

  16. I LOVE that rose bag,,,LOVE LOVE IT! I would love to make one in the same fabric but longer and wider for a bag to carry my work stuff in. I might have to get my old sewing machine out!

  17. Awwwwww...poor hubby...and no pix.

    Lovely camera bag!! Love it!!

Thanks for the visit and the well-wishes. I hope I feel better real soon!! LOL!

    How are you doing?

  18. Oh, that is such a major bummer about his pictures. How sad. What a sweetie you are for buying him a new camera though! I also love your new bag, it's adorable!

    Hugs, Sharon

  19. I am so sad for Brother C...How devastating! The kids still talk about his trains. We miss you guys!
