The new flag banner is now hanging in the living room. Can't you just picture how this room will look when the new slipcovers arrive from Ethan Allen? I shall be so excited to get them.
It started out like this but I tweaked it a bit. Have any of you ever done that: put something in a spot and then decided it needed a bit of a tweak? Nooo!!! I don't know that I believe that. Hah...
Anyway, I took the satin ribbon on the roses down and added a pink polka dot to the end and let the roses stand alone.
I also "tightened up" the banner. I think I like it a bit taut instead of hanging in an arc.

On each end I simply took about 10 different ribbons, trims and rick rack, tied them together, added a rose and pinned them up for a bit of a tail. I love them!
Oh Connie - this is so pretty. I just love it! I have been making paper banners for my home out of scrapbook paper - but, fabric! Oh my, it's so pretty. Love the ribbon tails!!! And the rose prints - and your pillows, too! Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday Connie! I really like your new banner! And I learned something new, I did not know you could order slip covers from Ethan Allen! We have a brand new EA store in town, I will definitely have to stop in there. Have a great weekend, Nan

ReplyDeleteThat is just so pretty! What a lovely warm room you have created and your banner with those gorgeous florals is just so sweet!
HPS my sweet friend!

I love this. I can picture doing this in my living/dining room windows. Only I would probably choose blues, mauves and yellows since those are the colors I have going on in there. But I do have sheer curtains, so doing that would add a nice touch and some color. Love the frou frou on your previous post too!

Wow, that banner gives the room so much "pop"... I really like it. Can't wait to see your new slip covers... it's going to be perfect!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday COnnie Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful share, just beautiful. I so love this banner. It is the most elegant and "Happy" looking piece to the window. It just makes you want to smile.
Who would have thought that banners once used for sales, and birthday parties would become a piece of art inside our homes. They are so elegant and I just love the one you have so beautifully designed for your living room. It is DDG Connie.
As always you are in the PINK. Thank you sweetie for sharing with me. I so love it when you do.
Have a blessed weekend. Country hugs and so much love, Sherry
Just love this!
ReplyDeleteYou chose some very pretty fabrics for that banner! I also can't help but notice the pretty lace panel over the window ~ beautiful!

I love those kinds of banners. I have made those for all three new babies that recently came to our family. Just wanted to let you know that poster board would work well, and then when you cover it with cardstock wieght paper on both sides it will work well.
