For A Special Blogger and Some Random Thoughts

I've done another one. I think it's the one that will go to a special person.

Back is still pretty enough to be the front part if wanted or can hang it in a doorway and both sides be displayed prettily.

Random Thoughts:

I cannot abide stupidity but ignorance can be tolerated to some degree because we're all ignorant to at least some degree.

But when I read recently that Stephen Hawking, who is a theoretical physicist said we need to abandon earth I just about lost it. He is an example of how extremely bright, talented men and women can be led astray without the gospel in their lives. Abandon earth?! What in the world does he suppose it's here for? Just shows you how stupid AND ignorant even bright people can be! Puhleeeeeeze.

When hubs calls me Connie I almost want to psyche up. Now where is that pepper spray? Sigh.

To calm myself I eat a candy bar. NOTHING works like chocolate and/or sugar.
*

God tries to teach us the great virtue of patience by refusing to show Himself in this world.
*

All time is eternally present, leading inexorably to an end that we believe results from our actions but over which our control is mere illusion.

We have the RIGHT to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. That's it, so get over it!

Cupcake Flops

Have you ever heard of cupcake flops? Well, you have now. This is a batch of faux cupcakes I made recently that I didn't get the icing recipe quite right and they sort of look like the icing was sliding down. Now, I'm going to sell these at a very low price— not ridiculously low—just a very low price for cupcakes. If you want them, let me know. All 5 of them, plus the little round red and white "plate" they are on will be $15.00 plus shipping. That's $3.00 a cupcake plus I'm throwing in the little stand with them. I've tried to show all sides and all my mistakes (Trust me, the others don't look like this but they won't be this cheap since I'm seeing one cupcake on ebay for $15.00 to $25.00!) I'm guessing shipping would be about $5.00 but I can't be sure as I don't know where they will be going. The designer cups I found and haven't seem them anywhere else so you have originals. Flops taste just as good as the regular ones anyway. ;-) (Noooo0, these are definitely not edible.) And you can tell all your friends you got this from a crazy blogger. Now, doesn't that sound enticing enough to want them? Hmmmmm?! And yummmmm!!

A New Froufrou Banner for Pink Saturday 8/21/10

Welcome to Pink Saturday. Just click on Beverly's logo to visit the other participants.

~*~

The new flag banner is now hanging in the living room. Can't you just picture how this room will look when the new slipcovers arrive from Ethan Allen? I shall be so excited to get them.

It started out like this but I tweaked it a bit. Have any of you ever done that: put something in a spot and then decided it needed a bit of a tweak? Nooo!!! I don't know that I believe that. Hah...

Anyway, I took the satin ribbon on the roses down and added a pink polka dot to the end and let the roses stand alone.

I also "tightened up" the banner. I think I like it a bit taut instead of hanging in an arc.
On each end I simply took about 10 different ribbons, trims and rick rack, tied them together, added a rose and pinned them up for a bit of a tail. I love them!

Also, a very sweet woman will be receiving one from me very soon. She has no idea it's coming though. ;-) What a surprise it will be for her.

Froufrou Friday #3 8/20/2010

Welcome to Froufrou Friday again. Just sign up on Mr. Linky below and enjoy perusing the bloggers who are participating. And if no one is participating, then you just have me, and I try to make it worth your while to visit. I absolutely love froufrou!
*

This is another thing I rescued from our garage sale. Obviously, it's from my blue period about 25 years ago. ;-) Pretty sad looking, huh? I just knew I could do something with it.

And I did! I made a Ribbon Tree out of snippets. It was so easy, just hot glued them on, added a few roses on top to cover the ribbons and paint the blue pot pink and voilĂ . There you have it.

Here I photographed every single side as I went around it to get each and every ribbon to show you the different ones so you could see them all and, perhaps, do one yourself. (Very little money or time involved here.)
So I'm hesitant to show the next 14 photos for fear of being photo-heavy. But I did move the ribbons around to show some of the underneath ones. AND I did use a lot of ribbons more than once.

So I'm posing a question to you today: Do you like a lot of photos or just a few? I'd truly like to know.

Ooooops, I missed a spot. Nooooo, just kidding. I was arranging the ribbons to let them all show through and must have missed putting it back after the "arranging." I can assure you there are NO blank spots in this, plus I was surprised at how few snippets it actually took. I have lots left over.

So pick your favorite color or themed ribbon and go for it! Easy, fun, cheap and makes a grand statement.

Romantic Country Rooms #3

I love black and white checks. Is there anything I don't like? Yes, orange! But that's another story. Group your furniture in a different way in your living room or family, NOT around the television as a focal point. Might be interesting!

I have a collection of fountain pens and different colors of inks. (Hmmmmm, I think that'll be another post someday.) Anyway, have you ever thought of collecting inkwells? Oh, not especially antique ones, just pretty ones at nice stores. Just a thought.

I have a beautiful sheepskin I bought in Blarney, Ireland. I gave it to my granddaughter after a while, but wouldn't it look wonderful draped over my new slipcovered sofa? I might ask for it back for a while. Maybe.

Another one of those yellow, lime and red rooms that just pop out at you. Isn't this room gorgeous?

I can never say this enough: I love yellow and red/pink rooms!!!!
