Working on in The Studio

Sneak peek at what I'm working on in the studio today. Just a little something I'm whipping up. ;-)

And I want to share with you the most exquisite letter I received from my blog writing partner from Ireland. It was written on the back of this paper! I think I'm going to use the paper for another one of my birdhouses. The photos do NOT do it justice, trust me. It is absolutely beautiful.

And she was so kind as to send me some souvenirs of her beautiful country, Ireland. Now, we've been to Ireland and I've been wanting to do a post on that most magnificent of countries and will sometime very soon. We had a wonderful time driving through it.

Romantic Country Rooms #2

These rooms are among some of my favorites. You can call them Country, Classic, British/English, French, whatever, but they would all be called Beautiful.

White slipcovers paired with French wicker chair.

Gorgeous chandelier that most of us are lusting for at this very moment.

Same room, different view.

I love the beautiful angles of this Chippendale staircase and the stone floor, but the urn with a huge bouquet of dried flowers definitely makes the most statement. I think I'll buy another urn for the other side of my living room and fill it with paper roses for a dramatic statement.

Stark but definitely stunningly gorgeous!

And We Spoke of Things to Come...Pink Saturday 6/12/10

It's Pink Saturday once again and a summer thank you to Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for hosting this when she could be on vacation. ;-)

This past week I visited 3 new chicks I hadn't been to before: Jingle at itistimetothinkformyself and The Paint Splash and Rebecca at BellaMaison.

Soon...very soon!

And the eyelashes are almost back to normal! I took this picture 6/9/2010 and the lashes suffered a little bit from all the mistreatment recently with the glue-ons and the eyelash extensions, but recovering and filling in quite nicely. While this is not a great shot I'm—again—shameless in showing it to you. ;-) Holy moly, I look like Ms. Pelosi! I'm going to stick to my original eyelashes from now on, chicks!

Big Hat, No Cattle or Cow Tipping

If you don't know by now from all my ramblings then I'm here to tell you: Love Bunny is a model RR train hobbyist. I'm talkin' real enthusiast here. He's turned our 3rd car garage into his train room. I, of course, have zero interest in this hobby. ;-)

However, a few months ago he received these little cows in the mail after searching long and hard for them—and paying a premium for these teensy, tiny cows. Sigh...

Now, when I told him I was going to do a blog about them and asked him to hold them in his hand to show just how tiny they were, they wouldn't stand up. He said, "You keep tipping my cows over." I laughed outrageously of course. I'm a cow tipper? We ended up being ridiculously silly, which is a common occurrence in this house anyway. Well, okay, ME in particular. These are his only cows; he has a big hat but no cattle...other than these.

They come black and he had to paint them brown and white. He looked all over the valley for just the right color of "brown cow." Hah, not easy to come by but eventually he found it. Then he added some white spots for realism.

Then came the pigs. He got those today. (I've had the better part of this post scheduled for 2 or more months now.) To show you how small everything is, I had his hold his hand in front of his tractors and then in front of the pigs. Very teensy.

Now, I don't know much of anything about pigs except that if you hate your neighbor, buy pigs and they'll move posthaste. But here are a bunch of them and one even wallowing in the mud and a mummy pig with her piglets.

The stake president of our church stake told a story—he originally grew up on a ranch in Wyoming so is kind of a cowboy sometimes when he goes back for a yearly roundup, but is a dentist by profession—that got me laughing so hard once that I couldn't stop. He's a really funny guy.

He, his wife and 4 kids went up for the roundup one year and his youngest daughter was on a horse helping with the cows. Her horse started running with her and they finally got it to stop. But he said she was really fine and nothing much happened that 2 years of psychotherapy couldn't remedy. I laughed and laughed. He's always telling those kind of stories.

Then he talked about once they were herding the cows up to higher ground and the mother cows went on ahead of their babies (I'm not a cowgirl and don't know the technical term for baby cows) and the baby cows kept going over the edge of the mountain trail and getting killed. They finally went up to where the mommy cows were and brought the mother cows back and the baby cows followed the mommy cows and got there safely. Oooooh, that it could be so easy with human kids!

He was going to tell me another story while I was with hubs getting a cavity filled in his dental office but big mouth—me—cut him off and never did get the story, but I shall, trust me. I'll let you know what that one was.

Miss "A" and Some Random Thoughts

Hubs and I spent the weekend over on the coast visiting our granddaughter and new great-granddaughter. Of course, she's a doll, but you knew that, right? ;-) Okay, so it can be boring looking at other people's kids and/or grand/great grandkids so I thought I punctuate this with a few random thoughts to have you not be so bored.

Hugs keeps wondering what this new creature is that has invaded his domain. He sniffs her diaper (clean) but doesn't want to go near her face. He's very inquisitive about who this is. ;-)

Aren't their little lips so kissable and sweet with that baby's breath? She's so fresh from heaven she still has that "heavenly skin" on her little hands.

Baby's lips are meant to be kissed!

Look at those sweet hands. They are extremely long and slender like her mummy's but I couldn't capture them as they truly were.

Her little legs and feet are encased in froufrou Jazzy Toes socks.

Just fed and being held by her mummy.

Now she has on the little shoes I made for her.

Tiny bums are also the cutest thing on a baby. She still likes to lay like a frog.

She is very petite like her mummy.

Here she is sitting on her grandmother's lap. That would be MY daughter. You can still see that little peach fuzz newborns have.

But, Ma, ouch, you're crushing my tatas! Her grandmom took this after we left and they went shopping in the car.

And today is my and Love Bunny's 49th anniversary! I see a dinner out at a restaurant in my very near future. :-)

Random Thoughts:

If you litter in Oregon the fine is $6,250.00! I'd say that's a tad much and also wonder how they came up with that figure. They must prize their state highly. In Idaho it's only $350.00—a considerable difference. Nuuuuu, I do NOT litter. My hubby was a Boy Scout Leader for 40 years and taught me well.

Hope is always found to be the flower that blooms from every seed of hopelessness.

Back in the middle 1960s it was Mary Quant who came out with the mini-skirt and forever after brought America out of the Dark Ages of psychopathic modesty. Sad, but true.
*

Speed limits just seem to be a suggestion for most people as we witnessed in 3 states this past weekend.

Have you ever seen a face so unfortunate that it argued convincingly of the existence of a benign deity?

A target for today is to put on some new clothes. ;-)

To me the world is like an orange of infinite layers which we peel and savor with increasing delight. I love and savor each new day. Think about it. Unhappy? Change your attitude and outlook on this marvelous thing we call Life.
