I'm just like anyone else when it comes to my home. I surround myself with things that I love, give me pleasure, are beautiful to me or make me feel good. Basically, if it isn't beautiful or doesn't serve a purpose, I don't allow it in my home. I love what I have and am very happy with it. That is not to say I'll never buy another sofa; I just might. ;-) But I still appreciate looking at beautiful things. So join me in looking at these gorgeous photos and day dream just a bit.I'll let the photos speak for themselves so I don't have to write so much today!
I recently became curious about Tom Bodett, the man who is the voice of Motel 6 radio commercials. (Okay, it was a slow day.) I wondered if he is indeed a real person so I googled him. Yes, he's actually a real person and has quite a sense of humor. But the thing that intrigued me on his Archives heading was one called Man With a Mac. Of course, that intrigued me since I've used Macs for over 20 years. But he added a bit of humor to it so I'm going to direct you to his monologue on Macs. I think you'll enjoy it and as he says: I feel smarter on my Mac. Enjoy. As I said, it was a slow day here on the computer. ;-) So now enjoy the eye candy I've selected for you today.
Recently, I've been feeling like the proverbial chicken running around so much. Don't get me wrong; I love eating out and getting out once in a while but I also absolutely love being home. Now, what does this have to do with anything here today? Well, I'm gonna tell ya.
If you haven't seen this tiny little cottage in upstate New York, you're living in a cave somewhere. I absolutely love it. However, it's just a tiny little cottage a very creative woman has made into a way of life. I'm not sure if there is a book about it but there have been numerous articles. It's darling and as I said, I love it. Wish I could have one!
I cannot tell if these are pink cotton balls or soaps, but no matter what, they make a great statement in that canning jar, not to mention a great photo-op.
A fantastic architectural element.
I printed out a copy of these roses and am taking them to a local store to see if they'll make me some for a luncheon I'm having.
Two glasses and two cookies? I hate to admit it but hubs might get the drink but no way would I let him have both cookies.
What a sweet way to display your mail.
Elegance.
I would love to have this little dining room.
Sweet and ruffled bed.
I am thinking seriously of taking a small pink ladder I have in my family room and hanging it in my laundry room.
This is the ladder in my family room that I plan on using for my laundry room. While I love this idea for a bed, I'm sure hubby would get his feet tangled in it and fall flat on his face the first time he tried to get up in the middle of the night. He indulges me a lot, but this might be the tipping point. ;-)
Lead us not into temptation. Just tell us where it is and we'll find it. ~*~

I love soft places. Oh, I don't mean just soft surroundings—fabrics, beds, chairs, soft things, etc. I mean photos, a word, a memory or just something that touchs that soft place in my heart that we keep hidden from most people. I've always had a soft heart. By that I mean I am easily reduced to tears thinking about a memory that touches me deeply.
I love bright colors also. Oh, I love the soft pinks but I am truly drawn to bold bright colors.
I am drawn to laundry flapping in the breeze.
I am drawn to any kind of lotions that smell good and cream my hands softly. By the way, this is what I did to Miss Caroline when we were there recently. She loved to have me put sweet smelling shea butter on her tiny little hands.
I am drawn to feminine attire.
I am drawn to cozy bedrooms.
I am drawn to roses and flowers that smell good.
I am especially drawn to fabrics that are pink, have roses on them or just touch my fancy.
I am drawn to things that trigger my nostalgia as this retro kitchen does.
I am drawn to beauty.
What are you drawn to? :-)
I have everything I need. That's the definition of affluence. ~*~
I am so sorry to have to do this but I'm initiating the captcha word verification for a while since I've been receiving a lot of spam advertising lately. They give up after a couple of weeks so it is temporary. I've opted to take an assertive stance instead of constantly deleting spam comments. I hate spam! * Bedrooms. We spend a great deal of time there but mostly when our eyes are closed. Let's look at some very pretty ones. Since not many people are invited to bedrooms, we can view some beautiful ones here or even just a small part of each one.
This looks like a room for two, but just take a look at that darling two person desk.
Would you ever want to leave this room? Not me.
I think my blogging friend, Claudia, would love this room.
This one is so similar to my own bedroom that it is eerie.
I believe I've seen this one in a magazine and it belongs to an artist. I won't say which one since I'm not sure. But isn't it gorgeous? I love this room.
I wish I knew where to find that duvet. It's gorgeous!
I'm partial to beautiful windows also so I thought I'd show you some of those.
I've also used this kind of treatment on some windows in other houses we've lived because while I love lace on the windows I also want to see outside sometimes without having the view blocked. I just knot the curtain and when I want, untie the knot.
An outdoors bedroom.
The lace edging on this sheet is what caught my eye.
I just like the looks of this room: the disarray of the books, the settled-in look of the sofa cushions, the little homemade look of the little footstools and the flower arrangement in the bay window.
Funny thing. The hydrangeas caught my eye way before the gorgeous verdigris bay window.
Go make something this cute. You can do it...while dreaming.
It's all in how you arrange the thing... the careful balance of the design is the motion. *
Another very short video of Caroline's newest moves. We think she's training to be a salsa dancer since her father is Guatemalan; although, he's forgetting most of his Spanish. He was raised in L.A. though ;-) The music is what sets her style of dance. My granddaughter says she loves accordion music, but the minute she hears music she starts dancing. She can really shake that booty though! LOL She just delights us to no end.
I really wanted to be beautiful and sexy but got stuck with being humorous and shapely instead. My dream job is Tech Writer. Yes, I said Tech Writer. I am a techie! Such is life. But I am truly a blessed chick. I left the corporate world of California in 1991 to live a more serene lifestyle and haven't regretted it for one moment. I have been married to the same man since 1961. We have 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-granddaughters. I live my life in exclamation points!
I love blogging and sharing thoughts on life, my life, ramblings and gorgeous photos. There are no politics on this blog. I speak of my religion sometimes but that's it for religion, and there will never be ads on here. I want this blog to be a serene and celestial place for you, my readers, to enjoy and rest from the frantic pace of the world. I hope you do so with all my heart. I also have a huge amount of eye candy on here. I'm rarely boring.
