You can display it just at Christmas, but I'd display it all year long.......

Years ago I was at work in my job and walked around alllll day long with an ink smudge on my upper lip. Cannot for the life of me figure how that happened but finally at the end of the day a woman told me. I always wondered why she didn't tell me about it when she first noticed it and saved me the embarrassment of walking around like that. I think she was not a true friend. This kind of says it all for me. Telling me about it when it happened as opposed to telling me at the end of the day that it had been on there all day would have saved me much embarrassment, but actually, I think she was the one who should have been embarrassed!

This was also bright true red. I could find a place for this in my craft/sewing room or my office/painting room I think......

This ain't yer same ol' "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree, trust me! It just sparkled even though it's "minimalistic"!

You would definitely have to be a "connoisseur" to collect these little expensive jewels!

Life in a Small Town

If you wanna hear my daughter's "anger management class" story go read it and have a laugh. Yep, we're alike in the humor department. But this is absolutely a true story!!! THIS is who I took along with me on this day!

I'd like to show you our little town in Idaho. We like it here and it's a relatively middle size town of 80,000 people but has a small town feel to it. This is a small new strip mall down the street from us. It contains an Italian eatery, a physical therapy office, a home decor shop, a bookstore with coffee shop inside, a Don Aslett cleaning supply store and 2 physicians offices. They have a small little picnic area next to the bookstore to sit in the spring, summer and fall to have a drink and chat. Nice little area. There is an upscale housing development behind this little group of offices and stores.

The day I took this trip around the town was a cloudy day during thanksgiving holidays.

This is a neat old victorian style house that I pass each time I go to the grocery store.

Arriving downtown, I parked near this grassy park area. The mural on the building is original to the building and the small band area allows "concerts" of local talent if there happens to be something going on downtown.

"Main Street America." My daughter from California was visiting for the holiday and we started down the "main" street of town. Here we have a little antique mall and tiny coffee shop. I guess you don't even have to ask where we "started" the tour.

This was originally a bank but has been abandoned for many years and is now an office.

Further down the street is a cafe called Little Kitchen. I haven't been to it but it has been recommended to me and we plan on going there in the next few days for breakfast. It was quite crowded this day. But a friend said they have fantastic breakfasts. We'll see!

Here we are at the tiny coffee shop having a chocolate muffin and a drink. Next we'll show you the antique shops. That's my daughter sitting there.

I really do like being in a town this size. Just big enough to be a small fish in a big pond but small enough to not have to travel very far no matter where we go to shop or eat.

Greenhurst Nursery #16

Can you tell how much I adored this little area since I keep coming back to it? Yes, it was charming with its little stove and vintage bistro set, which was covered with the most delicious stuff so much that I couldn't get a picture of it. It was a tiny space - about the size of a kitchen in a house but crammed with delicious stuff AND people.

A clearer view of some of those hanging faux desserts. Tiny faux bundt cakes hanging.

And cookie cutters with penguins on top, little cake square desserts with fruit and leaves on top......

Giant cookie ornies. There were also plates to match those cookies. Chocolate dipped strawberries! *Sigh*................

Stepping out of the kitchen and into a french country display of a dining room and storage units in that style.........

Aren't these simply adorable if you want a french style Christmas? All in the colors reminiscent of France.

The "cookie" plates hung on a horizontal plate hanger. Uuuuuuh, I had to look over this lady's head to take the pix. I never ever told anyone to "get out of the way"! Waaaay toooo rude. Every single person did when they saw I was doing a photo shoot but I never told them to.

This would go in my office/painting room wonderfully! I'm hoping they have an "After Christmas Sale" and that will be mine if it's still there.

I cannot tell you how much lovelier this is in person. The berries were bright true red but the lighting and camera played havoc with the colors in this area. It was very dim and had incandescent lighting so it was harder to find the best setting.

Seems like I've shown you this lamp before but just in case I haven't, here it is again. Just gorgeous!

More hanging ornies apropos for french country style holiday decorating......grapes and wine casks.... how cute is that?!
