Squeeeeeeealin' with Delight!!!!!

First of all let me say my whole expenditures for this magnificent catch yesterday was around $20.00! I had a really fun time finding some of these things.

The little picture below just kept screaming "take me, take me"!! So I did. The picture isn't too inspiring but I do love gazebos and the food frame is worth every scent I spent on it.

Same thing witht his one - a white frame and pretty roses, so how could I pass it up?!

I consider this one of the "finer catches" of the day. A pink and aqua roses (!) wood frame. I think I'm keeping this one instead of putting it on my other selling blog.

I've been looking for a lampshade just exactly like this one to pretty up for so long!! Well, I found it for a SONG yesterday. Doing the "happy dance" over this one!!

Be still my beating heart!!!!!! I collect pitchers - not ordinary ones, but roses and beautiful ones like this! This is not going out the door, but on my shelves. Catch of the day.............

Another darling find. A little holder to put pens and pencils in. Every phone in my home has paper and pencil by it and I have 5 phones in this house. I can answer any phone and have the necessary items to take a note or message by either one of them. I'm NOT one of those people who answer the phone and tell the caller to "wait a minute while I find a pen and paper." Silly idea to NOT have all items next to phone.

This little clock was so cute I couldn't pass it up. I do NOT need another clock in my house so this will go on the website to sell. It reminds me of a french clock. Some of my rooms have 3 clocks in them simply because I cannot pass up lovely clocks. Plus if I have a visitor and want to check the time without looking like I'm "clock watching" I can do it and not be obnoxious about it. Very important to me because I would never want to offend someone in my home by having them think they are boring and I'd want them to leave. Never happen in this chick's home! I find all visitors delightful!

Okay, some little candlesticks for making lovely cake plates and 2 are green which is ever more delightful. And they were very, very cheap!

Okay, these were hard to pass up also. I can use them for storing pretty items - ribbons, buttons, clothespins or just anything I think should be displayed beautifully.

This I agonized over for hours after bringing it home. Keep it, sell it, keep it, sell it, keep it, sell it. I asked my chickees on my group and they helped convince me it needed to be in my home. It is a 10" pink pearlized serving bowl! It is soooo much prettier in person than in the picture. It's gorgeous and I love it so I'm keeping it. It has "embossing" on it and just brings joy to me looking at it.

This tiny plate will probably go on the other blog to sell. It is so cute and just a spectacular deal so it isn't going to be very much money when I sell it. I truly want people to be able to have some beauty in their homes as I do, so this will be affordable and can be used to hang on the wall or a place to store tiny items in your home - say your watch while you are washing dishes or something like that. I have an Old Country Roses dessert plate on the ledge over my sink to hold my little pill box and a book of matches to light candles to fragrance the room and a spoon my hubby puts there during the day so he doesn't have to get a clean spoon every time he drinks his Pero.

Another serendipitous find for me! I love to collect little flower teapots and this is a tiny one. The rose on top is the lift off lid. It has a little chip in its spout but for the price I could not resist! It stays!!! ;-)

That's pretty much all I got yesterday. I was very happy and pleased with what I found though. All in all a productive day for this little chick!!! Now you'll just have to come back and see what I can do with the stuff I found today when I get the time to give some of them a "makeover"!

Little Vintage Pedestal Cake Plate I Made.

Okay, okay, so I went out junkin' again today! Ya can't keep a good chick down, ya know!! Now, for those of you who don't know my "story" (and I'm always good for a "story" for the women in my ebay group) we moved from 5,000 sq. ft. 12 room house on an acre to an 1800 sq. ft. house on a postage stamp yard about 3 years ago. When we moved here from California 15 years ago I shopped for an entire year buying things I thought we'd never see in Idaho. I was pretty much right with that one but we go back home to Calif. on a regular basis to see the kids.

Anyway, we were overwhelmed with "stuff"! I have sold or given enough away to furnish 3 houses, truly! I have "stuff" up in our "garage attic" that I have forgotten about. I have "stuff" in my cabinets I have forgotten about. Thus, I'm presenting a pedestal cake plate I made yesterday out of one of several plates of this lovely old vintage plate. I Went Junkin' Today!!!!

I decided to take a break today and go junkin' or shopping. I found a few little treasures and they sure are cute. This little hanging shoe that could hold a couple of flowers, a couple of candlesticks and a ring of "berries" I might use to make another pretty petal cake. The shoe was chipped but no matter; I'll give it a good and loving home!! :-) I give a "good and loving" home to a lot of stuff!! Just you ask hubby. He's my man!!

And what is it with candleholders that you can't find them any more except in flea markets and thrift stores?????? I thought I'd never find any again. I think it must be the trend of putting potpourri in pots or candle warmers. I do the same thing though. I'll go to Wal Mart and buy a little candle in a small holder and light it in the kitchen. I absolutely love Glade's Angel Whispers!! It is the most delicious fragrance I've smelled - outside of plumeria, of course. But Angel Whispers is a light delicate but definitely distinct fragrance I adore. You might try it next time you're at WM.

And while I was photographing the above items, I looked beside the area I have set up to do my photo shoots and saw this little drawer I snatched several years ago from a yard sale for 50¢ (!)....squeeeaaallllll as Jen says.......and painted it white. I haven't figured out just what I want to do with it yet but it was just sitting there and I've been sticking things in it that I'm putting on my other blog. It looked primed for a "photo shoot" so here it is. "Eye candy" for ya, chickees!

New Bird Bath and Water Fountain......

As Jenn would say....squeeeeeaaaalllllll!!!! Bright and early this morning I hauled hubs over to Lowe's and Home Depot to look at bird baths and he fell in love with a water fountain. Now, not to say his taste is bad but I didn't like his first choice (too rustic-looking for a shabby chic pink house) and there wasn't a big selection for what I considered a good deal. I did NOT want to pay $400 for a fountain so we compromised on this one for $169.00 plus our 10% discount for being military or retired military. (Hey, did all you ex-military or current military know you can get this discount at those two stores?!?! Yes, just show your military ID and you get it!)

Anyway, he installed it with my expert supervision, which he doesn't think he needs but I'm here to tell ya chicks he would never have gotten the flow of water right if I hadn't been there to nag.....uhhhhh "direct" him. They don't call me supervisor for nothin' ya know!! What do ya think???

I also took a shot of the back patio/yard area. We are retirees and don't want anything bigger than the yard we have so it isn't very big but we haven't - I haven't - finished with it yet. These things take time ya know. ;-) I'll be putting some curtains, sheers I think, at some point. But living in the high desert has its own unique problems with outside decorating in a style I loved before we moved here from California. I love bougainvilla and star jasmine (hope ours lives that we planted a few weeks ago), and the tropical kind of plants like that. Things that remind me of Calif. - orange and lemon trees. Ooooooooh, don't even get me started. But you can see the little bird bath for $55.00 plus the discount. I put some little glass pebbles in it so the birds could maybe stand on them. I think they'd like the sparkle!

Okay, I finished 6 little faux cupcakes yesterday and the day before. Hubby kept wondering what was keeping me so busy! But I just love them.......so cute for "eye candy" and we ALL know how I feel about "eye candy"!! And these I scented with Crabtree & Evelyn oil of roses and do they smell luscious, I tell ya.....uh huh!!! You should smell this house. I can only get her oils when I go to Seattle to visit with "gorgeous granddaughter" aka GGD or back to California to visit with daughter and son. So I hoard it passionately! Hah

Oooooh and my Apple Mighty Mouse is working again! Dilemma solved. Now, as Ronda says, I can keep my $50 and spend it on yard sale finds or more roses of some sort for this house. Definitely my kinda chick!!
