Welcome to Pink Saturday. Once again, visit Beverly to view the other participant's goodies.

I didn't have much time to find much pink this week because I've been back and forth to Boise 4 of the 5 days so far. Today I'm staying home and resting, but I'm sharing with you my favorite porch. I honestly cannot remember where I saw this photo but I snagged it to remember what I want to do with my patio or porch. This, of course, will take time. :-) But isn't it lovely?

One of the most extraordinary places I've ever been is Ireland. And I lived in Hawaii when I was a child. But the Irish love Americans. I love Mexico also and have been there many times. They are a gracious people. But today I'm going to show you a taste of Ireland.
Most of Ireland is small towns and they just sparkle. As I said, they are extremely friendly to Americans and go out of their way to help a tourist. We drove from Shannon over to Dublin, down to Waterford and then back to Shannon in about 10 days and stayed in many bed and breakfasts. There are limitless castles and I mean limitless. Just about every town, city, village and hamlet we saw had one. Sometimes there were some simply along the road. But today let's just visit one home that was featured in a magazine in the 80s. And yes, Ireland is green beyond measure. We were there in the month of February and it rained several days. The Irish take it in stride. If they waited to do things when it wasn't raining, they'd never get anything done.
Many scenes like this were readily available for a photoshoot. Ireland loves horses!

This is what they'd call a sitting or drawing room and we'd call a family room. This home is owned by a well-to-do family, but the majority of homes are very humble and small, not at all like what most of us have here.
I would love to sit in the window seat and look out over the beautiful view.
ReplyDeleteHope you are recovering now from your fall.
Just love that porch... I too have yearnings!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, and hope your elbow is better.
OMG what a beautiful post!!! I LOVE B&Bs in Ireland...I think it's the ONLY way to go... They are so sweet and I wanted to bring them all home with me...AND with all that RAIN come the rainbows. We used to always leave a tape recorder running in the car when we traveled and when my boys were little you can hear their excitement talking about all the rainbows as we drove in and out of rain...Thank you SO MUCH for this beautiful post. AND Oh YES what a gorgeous porch setting your first picture is!
ReplyDeleteWarm Winter Hugs to you,
Donna
I want to visit Ireland so badly! I just watched a travel show about it, and they too said that it really is that vivid green everywhere. And that porch in the first shot is really lovely. So romantic!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!

Hi Sweet Pea,
ReplyDeleteLove those pics of Ireland (which I've never visited), but the first photo of the porch is where I would love to sit and have a glass of cold Iced Tea with you someday. Wouldn't that just be delightful.
It lifted my spirits on a very dark day for me.
xo Cathy
I popped over from Pink Saturday ,I also had a room done in that dark green and not just that it was suede effect paint so first it had to be sanded and then a coat of primer and then 2 coats of coloured pain to cover ,what was I thinking!

love the pictures! how beautiful!!!!! Love the window seat. I would love to have one. If I ever redo the living room, I will be adding one.
ReplyDeleteConnie- you have the sweetest post this week. I love the porch and I would certainly have that one in a minute, for sure. I really enjoyed the part on Ireland and the grass always looks so green there. I love that bay window. What a great place to spend one of their rainy days with a great love story.
ReplyDeleteHappy PS!

Beautiful porch. I love winter and the snow, but looking at that makes me hope Spring will come soon and I can do a little decorating on my porch. Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos. Happy Pink Saturday!

ReplyDeleteWhat in the world were you doing all that time in Boise? :)
HPS, Connie! I would love to visit Ireland. My hubby is REALLY Irish....and I'm a little....I think it would be terrific to visit that country and perhaps find "roots".

ReplyDeleteI have a friend that went to Ireland last year and she fell totally in luv.
ReplyDeleteHugs, bj
Oh just love this! That porch is dreamy - a terrific inspiration! I love Ireland too - have never been there - it's a dream. My father was so proud of his Irish heritage that he instilled it in us. My sister and I were at the theater watching P.S. I Love You and we cried all through the movie - the scenes of Ireland moved our hearts so!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you're feeling better - I was walking our son's dog and fell on some ice - didn't look or sound pretty - takes more time to recover these days!
HUGS and Happy Pink Saturday,
Kathy
Connie,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite in this post today is the porch! I would die to have a porch like that!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Thank you so much for bringing us to Ireland through your eyes! So beautiful. Happy Pink Saturday!! Grace xoox
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful vacation memories with us...I would love to one day visit the UK and Europe to enjoy all that lovely old world charm and history.
ReplyDeleteHappy PS Kelsie
Love the porch but it seems these beautiful areas are never decorated for rain. Here...all that fabric would mildew in a heartbeat but on the plus side it would fade perfectly for that worn shabby chic look we love. And I want that window seat! HPS xoxo
ReplyDeleteConnie, if things were built only on dreams, my porch would look just like that--it's about the same without all the frufru and when it rains, it always rains on the porch. I have been wanting to put up windows and make it a sun room--that's another dream. Love the pictures of Ireland. I have Irish blood and would love to visit someday and visit the McFarlain family and see who is related to my greatgrandmother. Thanks for sharing a journey I may never get to see. Hope the elbow is better today. love and hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteThat porch looks so lovely and I enjoyed your photos of Ireland.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. I especially enjoyed the Pink Saturday porch. Can you imagine the joy of sitting out there with all our grandchildren, with their very favorite kids toy tea sets, and enjoying iced animal cookies and sipping pink tea. Delightful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post today - I'd love to visit Ireland someday. Your inspiration patio picture is wonderful!! Happy Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteHELLO AND HAPPY PINK SATURDAY!!! WHAT AN AWESOME POST!!! SUCH BEAUTIFUL PIC'S, I LOVE THEM ALL!!! LIKE CANDY FOR MY EYES :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Connie Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteA beautiful share today. I have so enjoyed my trip to Ireland. I can't decide what I would want to see most, but the countryside is gorgeous.
I too love the front porch. What a beautiful place to take in the day, whether it be morning, noon or evening. A place to curl up with a glass of tea and a great book.
A beautiful share. Hope you are feeling better sweet one. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
GORGEOUS photo's and I have 3 friends that are on vacation in Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteYou always share the most wonderful pics and I, as you might know being Irish, I love the pics from Ireland. I so hope to go someday and visit.
But that porch is awesome and I could spend relaxing time there with a tall glass of iced tea and a few design books.
My kitchen redo has begun. Pics to follow when all is done.
Thank you for stopping by.
Hugs and Love from Texas,
Celestina Marie
Love that porch! Happy Pink Saturday!

That porch is a dream! Since we are feeling a balmy 9 degrees here at the Jersey Shore, looking at that porch has me longing for Spring. I envy your Ireland trip. It is on our "to travel" list. DH's husband emigrated here from Ireland when he was 12. So, I especially want to go there since my darling daughters are 1/2 Irish. They want to go as well to visit their heritage. Ahhh someday.
ReplyDeleteHappy PS!

Hi Connie,
ReplyDeleteI found you over at Elizabeth and Gary's blog. I love your photo of the porch, I would love to have one like that, too.
I would love to visit Ireland one day, I could do without the rain, it reminds me too much of Vancouver. I adore the beautiful homes and the castles that I have seen photos of on other blogs, though.
Hugs, Cindy
Hello Connie, I'm still making my Pink Saturday visits. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. Love your pink post this week! I can see why you love that porch, I do too! Bob started his journey home, it will take 3 weeks.

Happy Pink Saturday, dear Connie. fyi - The Pink Saturday logo you are displaying at the top of this post has the incorrect url for my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis porch is just absolutely gorgeous. I imagine anyone would love such a gorgeous setting.
